Do you ever go totally nuts, put on some music and just let you feelings draw the the picture without almost being aware of what is happening ?

here's a subtle little self portrait, hehe.

feel free to try, and post it here if you feel like sharing it

That's some madness, Joachim.
Janne, yours has got a lot of character, too.
I think I copped out and went the safe route. It's a bit tame...but I was just doodling around in Painter until I started to see some forms. Oh well, it'll have to do for my drawing of the day.

Oh yeah, the song that inspired this was the The Stranger by Mono.

instead of homework i do this stuff Its all good especially when the homework comes form your social teacher who is also your art teacher so she is glad that you did art. If that makes any sence at all. Well on to the pic

lol
and my music choice was a rotation of 'visit the moon' and "do De Rubber Duck' both sung by the famous ernie. I figured the music would make me do somethin a bit odd.

ohh, so much nice stuff, great job everybody. very inspiring to see, when getting in at work.

I didn't have one specific song, but I listened to a music from a specific artist, called Bootsy Collins...Try downloading his song called Boottzilla, and you know what I'm talking about

sear, No, I don't think people should feel that it has to be figurative. In fact, the only reason mine is, is that it became more and more a face while I was drawing, so I started going in that direction I guess.

I think the most important thing to do while doing this, is to let your feelings be affected by the music, and don't go thinking this has to look good.... -sounds artsy fartsy I know, hehe, but I like doing it.
When I did mine, I kinda wanted to almost tear the canvas a part, and if you listen to the music I had on, I think the colors, etc for some reason suits the theme..don't know ?!?

A.buttle, I painted it in photoshop. I couldn't do painter freely enough to do this.

yeah, I would also like to know what music people listened to.

I gather you play bass Janne?

Pretty much only bassplayers listens to bootsy (who is a purdy darned cool bassplayer) as far as I know =)

what's that song called..

argh annoying... I know how to play it and how the bassline goes, but I don't know any lyrics... he says I want to get under your skin somewhere in the song tho... dat's a good song

WOW!
these are some of the best paintings ive seen on this place. Intresting that you think this way of painting is "madness" and "nuts". =)
Suddenly no one has any problem with the palette.

For me it maks total sense.

Fun!

Me vs. Big Bad World

Song was The Offspring - We Are One. I don't care what you say. They're still great! Like their old songs better though.

[edit] Sorry for it being a bit dark. Jpeg format...

Good stuff guys!

Sear, I love that, really tight!

You guys talkin 'bout Bootsy Collins?
If so I've got a sweet mix with Bootsy(played at 45) into some Thomas Bangalter into Michael Jackson into Daft'n'Direckt!
