this is all that was left at the end of the day.

sadly i lost my attempt at "making it easily with 3d studio.. errr oooops" :| (i fucked up even more than affected did. though mine was an accident. or rather, clicking the wrong x/y/z button.)

I made a really cool sprocket thing using Illustrator, 3d studio, and Flash. The only downside is that it ended up HUGE. And this is after I optimized it by removing the unneccessary frames and removing lines.

hit me with a stick if i'm wrong, but isn't it like - 2 minutes of work in freehand to make a gear like this?

just use a many-sided star, add a smaller circle in the middle, and substract a bigger circle on the outside.
