It looks good, I like the colours but you're right they're not very emotional maybe make them darker?. The expression doesn't lend itself to grief really either, more surprise. One last crit would be the nose, its a bit long for the style of painting.

Nice though!

thanks tigre, yah the colors are to bright i think, making them darker would help it out. i think her skins to light as well, though i wanted her to be sort of pale angelic.. hard to do. the expression was ment to be more suprise, thanks tho

great looking pic.

but as u say make it darker...and if its gonne be a angel make her hair yellow - I dont think its fit with brown hair, or if u want to move away from the typically angel look, make her black =)
..but thats just what I think...

I think maybe the biggest reason why it looks too "bubblegum" is the fluffy clouds and the bright blue sky. That always conveys a super-happy mood. If you want her skin to still look angelic, make it more pale white not so much soft pink. Her expression isn't very emotional either, like you said it's supposed to be surprised, but make it more sadly surprised and distrought. Just my opinion.

yah the expression seems very "what the!?! how'd that happen?" rather than what you'd expect a fallen angel to be feeling (I mean if it is a fallen angel, than the one who tore off the wings, must be pissed, and the angel must have felt either guilt, or disgust, and definitely pain.

then again, maybe she did just fly too close to an overhang
