Haven't posted anything for a little while, anyway this is my version of an Unreal Tourament champion. As it is I feel it's finished but I think it needs something, not sure what.
Let me know what you think, thanks.

Great Job. The forced "flat" perspective is right on...combined with other elements to lend a real mythic-iconic quality.

Could just as easly be Viking painted on the side of an urn.

Could this be rendered differently? Sure, a million ways. Look at the intent. What might be done to fully realise that vision?

.....

Keep up the good work,

Rhysling

Looks good, Axl. Your texture is nice on the armor.

Here is Shane's version of the Unreal Tourament champion. http://www.planetshane.com/Paintings/CTF.html

Keep up the good work! Look forward to your coming posts...

The arms are bigger than the legs! Also make some (more) depth in it.
Your scenery with that mountain and all looks a bit like Shane Caudle's UT thingie.

Looks good, however there is not much depth. The background is very good but the subject is very stiff. Your characters all seem to have this stiff type of pose. Try sketching lots of dynamic poses, over and over. With practice, they'll start to come a lot easier and will add a lot more to your pictures. You could also create a stronger light source (i.e. brighter highlights and darker shadows) to add depth. You've done a great job creating mood and your textures are excellent, now go out there and work on some cool poses.

Thanks sacrelicious. I used to make my own comic strips when I was younger and I think that since I gave up doing that the characters in my pieces have lost movement. That's something that I'm going to have to work on.
