So here's a character design for a comic book that I am working on. It is already decided that this depiction is too mature for the look that we're going for. This character is going to be roughly 17 years old. But it's a good start (and a good piece).
I have added a link to a higher res version (below), in case anyone wants to color it. It might be in your best interest to give it a shot, if you have the free time. *hint, cough, nudge, hint, cough*
And go here if you want to grab a larger version (or email me if you need one even larger). http://www.rattmouth.com/images/sci-fi/susieQ-large.jpg This one is about 197 K.
Some points of interest to those who would color it.......
-She is supposed to have strawberry blonde hair with a black steak through it. And she has two ponytails (you can barely see the second one on her right shoulder).
-the suit has vents in it, exposing the skin. On her chest, stomach, the sides of her upper thighs, the sides of her knees, her elbow pits, her shoulders, the area around her trapezius'sss's's (where Spock would've hit her with a Vulcan neck pinch). And of course her head is exposed.
Other than that, you can go crazy with it. Just keep in mind that the writer wanted her to look kinda "gothy". The story takes place way into the far future, so by "gothy" he means that it has parallels to a gothic outfit. Not that he wants to see her wearing a cape and shitty costume jewelry of skulls while reciting bad poetry.
I look forward to seeing what you guys can do with it, but don't feel you have to.
Thankee,
Matt

I'm gonna color it, if that's alright. I have colored some other drawing, but it has been awhile. I will post an in progress pic.

`In that direction,' the Cat said, waving its right paw round, `lives a Hatter: and in that direction,' waving the other paw, `lives a March Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad.'
`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad...' |

The haircolor wasn't my idea. I don't have a problem with it, though.
I just don't really know what Strawberry blonde is.
My assumption:
Blonde hair, tinted slightly red.

Enayla, are you capable of fucking up into something terribly ugly or are you the product of a secret government project to create The Awesome Artist(tm)?

Pretty neat Enayla. I'm surprised that nobody is really following the scheme though.
Just a tip for everyone coloring. You should lay down all the colors before you go in and render. You should work on the picture as a whole and not in pieces.

Spitfire: Heheh, I'm not really a person - I'm just a machine. Haven't you figured that out yet?
Chapel: Eeep... I didn't even notice the scheme... *Sheepish*... I just saw the linework, the thing about colouring it, and downloaded it... *hangs head in shame*

That still looks great, Enayla.
When I draw, I know exactly what I am trying to get across. I try to think in 3-dimensional shape, and textures, and material thicknesses, as opposed to letting style take control. It's great to see that you recognized those and colored them exactly like I wanted them colored. And that's a big compliment for both of us.
Thanks for giving it a shot.

Gah. I decided to try and do it up quick. It's [retty simple. It shouldn't take long.
But blah, it's coming out bad. So I need to rework it ALOT.
I'll try and have it done tommorrow.

Well, I THOUGHT I was doing really well on my rendition which took me about an hour, just to do the head (see above), until I see the masterpiece Enayla whips out in mere minutes.
What's the use now?

Since I'm at work again, and I'm having a break right now (munching on an apple) I decided to give it another stab. I didn't start all over again, but I changed the colours, and added a few tidbits.
And here's the huge, full-sized version. I'm not going to be able to keep that one up for too long, so please do download it before I replace it with a smaller one
way too big
Twisted: Pff, your version is looking good keep working on it, it's great training.

Well, thought I'd warm up by coloring this thing up, spent a little more time than I planned and didn't even finish some places. That and I didn't do much of any cleaning up so it's a bit sloppy in places I was experimenting with. Probably won't go any further unless anybody sees a reason to do so. But here it is, avert your eyes, I don't want anybody picking up any bad habits from this crappy color job

And then, there was a voice from below.
It said "Jump," and jump, he did.
And was the Band Wagon of Rubber Outfits upon which he did land, quite ungracefully.
Edit: Fudged the URL up.

Okay. That's sick. I like the secondary radiosity coming from the ground. (I keep forgetting about that kinda stuff when I color) |
