Just something quick and crappy, brought about by a few brief moments of Syndicate nostalgia.
Ehh... can't do smoke to save my life. Or lettering, either. Among other things.

Cool pic. Has a definite "game engine" type feel to the color palette and the way the figure is defined. Syndicate was a kickass game.
By the way, if you want to try something else with smoke.. try making an new layer.. use the airbrush tool on a light grey. Set the tool to fade around 30 or so. Make a couple of marks. Then use the smudge tool to throw some current in the smoke trails. Lower the opacitiy on the layer. (I haven't tried this.. just though it up)

looks sweet, man I love Syndicate!
One crit, the goggles/eyes seem to be pointing in different directions. (I suppose not all mind-controlled cops can be perfect though)
*goes off to research Minigun MMMMMM*

Looks great. In my opinion, all the fabric, belts tubes all have the same texture. It all looks like cloth and blends in. It took me a few seconds to realize what was going on in the picture. So to make the picture more effective, concentrate on adding appropriate materials to the appropriate objects.
my 2 cents. Good work though. |

Chapel: I tried something roughly along those lines. Didn't like it though, but I think that was my fault, I was a bit heavy handed. Maybe next time...
el tigre: His right eyepiece, the one at the back, gave me so much grief. In the end I kinda gave up on it. Who knows, maybe they have independent tracking, like a chameleon... *scribbles this down as Convenient Excuse #452*
swampbug: You're probably correct. This was a pretty quick pic, for me, did it in a couple of hours split over two evenings. As such, everything other than the head and shoulder regions got a bit... rushed.
synj: Both, I imagine. Syndicate Wars had a certain high-tech coolness about it, but I thought the original was much grittier and far more atmospheric. They were both nifty, in different ways. I'm not sure if a third instalment would be a good thing or not. I have the horrible feeling it would be given a working over with the Sparkly Shiny Fun For All The Family Wand.
Enayla: It never hurts to hear it again! |
