Coverdesign "TZAR-the burden of the crown".
Painted in Photoshop by using the WACOM-tablet.
Tom71SWE and Capt.FlushGarden, see you on Friday and captain, dont forget to bring the cream!

Very, very nice. I really like the bottom half of the image. The people in the town and the town itself are rendered in an awesome style. I'm not sure about the grafitti--seems a bit illegible (?). Is it a watermark of a sort? Overall, you Liquid guys make me sick And with flushgarden in your ranks soon (correct me if I'm wrong), I'll hate you guys even more

nice....like to see more...

would it be possible to get a look at at bigger version? or perhaps just a zoomed up portion. The detailing looks fantastic |

I'd love to see more of your work!
Correct me if I'm wrong but you are THE Jimmy in the swedish graf scene? If that's so I've got a picture of your awesome backpiece you had at the Jam in Uppsala (Gottsunda) in '92 or something

wakestarr!: Youre correct, I was there and wore a backpiece, so Id love to see the picture, bring it up...
...No, I dont have a homepage of own, but you can allways go to "www.liquid.se", at the moment I have not put any pictures there, Its the homepage of the company and youll find one of TOM71SWE... It will uppdate from time to time.
caneman: Vad bra att du kunde hitta fel i bilden, men vilken tur det r att smaken r olika ;-)...

Love the incredible artwork in the bottom half of the page. Not too sure I like the graffiti/logo thing. Looks out of place and clashes with the fine art look of the rest of the piece.
As for the Liquid thing, I checked out the website (nice stuff, btw) - you're not the same Liquid! that works on BattleChasers, are ya?

:-) Tack...

I realy like the rendering of the town and figures in the lower left. Use of colour and sugestion of form/level of detail is, IMHO, well chosen; however, the forground figures lack the same grace in addition to having some lightsource issues. Combined with a lack of overall direction of coposition (or rather a solid composition obscured by a few poorly placed promanent elements). You might reconsidered (as others have mentioned) a Logo that works with the pictoral, in addition to removing or repositioning other background elements (Tower/Dragon). Considering your obvious ability, you would be well served to work these problems out in rough comps.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more.
Take care,
Rhysling |

Hey Jimmy,
I found the picture and scanned it. However, it was quite a crappy picture..
Anyways, here it is:

Hm...
Okey, its mine. Started up doing the backpiece some time during 1990, but I didnt finish it until late 1991 because of lack of time. |

...I know, its a bit dark! You should see the first print, I did look at the "croma" (not sure about the term, anyway its a kind of a digital testprint) and it all seemed to be allright... but no, the printed cover was a disaster, no details were no longer visible. I did tell them to be very careful and that I wanted to see a paper-test-print before the printpress started up. No testprint but a few days later I got the cover. :-(((
Its a long way between WYSIWYG on the screen and the final paperprint, thats the reason why I only work with computergamegraphics... / |
