*blinks at faustgfx and Spitfire again*

Jaymo: She's not exactly human, but I wasn't thinking Cyborg either (I rarely, if ever, draw futuristic stuff)... Neat idea, though!

Merekat: Embarrassingly enough, this one only took me about five or six hours. I work quickly. Especially with pieces I consider just something thrown together *sheepish*... I had no idea people here would actually love her. And as to time....heheh... I sit up late at night.

Shardik: This a good or a bad thing? I liked the look of the separate strands of hair, though I don't know exactly how I came up with them.

Trick: *curtseys* The colouring of her lips is rather meant to be that way

Seph|roth: Thanks!

Senator: I sure hope not!

jcterminal: There's nothing wrong with my grammar!

ToasT 01: *just smiles*

Lovely
But, after all the discussion nobody has asked "who is she?"
Because she reminds me of a character from a book I'm reading right now...

*ignores the little fightings going on*

Ragnarok: Thanks. She's... ah... it's a long story. Her name is Ceriee, and she is something called a Shadow Wanderer.

Dives: Eeep! You try that, and I might have to cut some certain parts of your body off if I ever see you

A Shadow Wanderer is a creature that resembles a human, but is anything but. It is the less "vicious" kin of the Night Wanderer.

The mother of a Shadow Wanderer does not raise the child on her own, but rather seeks out a human family, slays their child, and replaces the baby with her own infant. The humans rarely, if ever, know the difference and raise the child as their own. But throughout the Shadow Wanderer's childhood, the creature will slowly drain its "parents" of what life, magic, and energy they have. This is an unconscious procedure, and nothing the Wanderer can help. Once the parents have died, often around the Wanderers thirteenth year, the creature is hatched. Her (let us call it a her, lest I must repeat he or she on every occasion) appearance changes, and the Wanderer grows into her powers.

Now, one must point out that the Wanderer will always be weaker during the day, and she often dreads the sunlight. Even so, it is not painful as such to her, but rather negates all her powers. But there are shadows even during the day, and these shadows always provide solitude for the Wanderer. She can use those shadows to travel to wherever there is another of those shadows so unless you are in a room always illuminated in a way that makes sure NO shadows are cast, there is always a way for a Shadow Wanderer to sneak up on you

Well... you asked!

Enayla, right now I'm reading the Dragonlance Chronicles and in one book they mention an elven princess that I imagined just as your drawing. That princess is as beautiful as the night and her name is Alhana Starbreeze.

This is truly the nicest art I've seen from you, Enayla. Can't you make it as a wallpaper (1024x768), please?

I just love the style, the 'tattoo' and especially the hair. And woops, I forgot to mention those purples eyes. They are just stunning, as if she is looking right into your eyes.

GREAT WORK!

PS "nothing special, but...", I don't understand why you said that...

[edit]Forgot to mention the eyes[/edit]

I like it, only thing is the "marks" on her face seem a bit "off the surface," there should be something to make em seem more a part of her face.

She reminds me of Vanessa Paradis, who I like a lot. I like how the hair looks really "hariy" and how her eyes really intensly look at you.

Whoops, I can't believe this thread keeps getting bumped up all the time (hadn't it been pushed down to page two??)

Seriously, it's not like I dislike the picture, but it's not like I'm thrilled with it either

Glad so many like it though.

As to a larger version, well, err, I do have one somewhere... I'll try to dig it up, I think, when I feel a bit less tired

Thanks for the compliments

Nice stuff Enayla. That you could create such amazing hair in so few hours speaks volumes about your ability.

I'd love to see you render a Wookie.
