... I thought I'd show it anyway. There's something about her that I like
(Just a portrait of a character - that's why there's no background)

Wow, looks great, as usual. Only thing that looks a smidge wrong is that the tattoo or tribal type mark looks rather flat. It doesn't seem to fit the contour of the face... It doesn't look like it dips down all that much from under the eye, and up th side of the nose...Maybe that is just me seeing that though...Anyway, fix or no fix it is great and much better than I can do.

Wow,
Very nice. I love it. (No crits, other than to second the previous comment on the tattoo).
Cheers

Nothing special...? Show us something special then This is one of my favorites from you Enayla. How did you do this pic? Did you use a reference? Hands are really good. The hair has some really, really beautiful colors. Nice ++

sahripper: Eeep, yeah, I've noticed the tattoo problem now. Sadly enough, it's not on a separate layer. I'll see if I can fix it anyway (though not right now)
mannyp: Thanks The tattoo will be fixed.
faustgfx: *beams*
SporQ: Heheh, thanks again
Spitfire: No kidding? *grin*
Kolt:
Kjetil Nystuen: Oooh? I didn't think it was /that/ good. The pose is inspired by an old Madonna picture as well as a picture I saw of a kid (could she have been ten years old?) but I didn't use an actual reference picture. I rarely do when it's just a portrait. (I'm amazed that you like it so much - I don't consider it one of my best... glad to hear someone does though )
El Caseron: Wheeh!
Solitaire: I'll fix it. Isn't it weird how you can become blind to your own pictures? I hadn't even noticed something was weird with it, but the moment someone pointed it out, I could see it immediately *sheepish*
sacrelicious: Heeeh... depends on the clock, actually. Only the digital clocks actually /show/ the 13:00-23:00 figures.
As to that portrait, I'm doing it for one of my jobs, so I only work on it during the weeks, not the weekends. It'll probably be updated again on Monday
Bradford: Heheh... I'm glad the hair I do is appreciated. I put down a lot of time and effort on the different hairstyles - probably /too/ much! *laugh*

Looks cool. I think it would look neat if you had like a sky or something in the backgroung.. maybe a litle moonlight around the edges. |

Wahoo, I still love this pic!
Everything I said before still applies, only more so. And you fixed up that wonderful hand, too!
*is still waiting for that gore drenched pic. although, with destractions like this, it's a very enjoyable wait.*
EDIT: Slapped the wrong emoticon into place. Idiot.

I've to agree with Sahriper - the tribal seems as if it's before the face not being part of it. The bent should follow the form of the nose cheeks. |

In Europe, a stopped clock is only right once a day.
What happened to the fiery, watery, portraity piece? Not that this doesn't rock; I'm just curious.

VERY nice Enayla. This is probably my fave of the pieces I've seen you post here. The hair is great! (being a hair painting fetishist myself) Although I like the face, I think there are some things that have room for improvement. The whole eye region looks a bit flat. The way the eyes are placed in the face. The flatness of the forehead's a contributor to this I suspect. Anyway.. it's minor.
If you haven't fixed the tattoo already, it should be peanuts. Isolate it and play around with brightening/darkening it accoring to how the light hits the face. Right now it's all in one value. It might be of interest to place the tattoo in an upper layer, paint skin beneath it in the lower layer and mess around with some blend modes. See what that results into.
Now that I'm looking a little closer, some of your hairstrands appear to have faceted (flat) edges. Any particular reason for this? (slowness of the PS brush-engine?)
All in all a great image. Does it come any bigger? It'd like her on my backdrop for a while please

I don't even know if this looks better, but I'm just plain giving up now. Tired and sick of this picture
Chapel: You're probably right. Maybe, just schmaybe, I'll get around to making a bg for her sometime... maybe.
SlightlyTwisted: It's coming along just nicely.
Adezj: Thankee
*just blinks at faustgfx and Spitfire* ooookay....
TheMilkMan: Sowwy... it always works all right on my connection though
Danny: Oooh, lots of crits! I love that! And as to the hair and any flatness of it, *points to her ancient computer*, it isn't exactly heaven working on this machine
Large (There you go - bigger version)

Wow. Absolutely excellent! I am SO jealous of your hair-ability. ;} But, in a good way. Makes me get off my butt and work harder. ;}
How long would pieces like this take you? I get a little discouraged at times, for it seems the entire forum is constantly putting pieces up, and it takes a couple weeks after workdays to get something like my catburglar done. Where do you people find time to do this staggering volume of work?? ;}
Seriously, madam, how long do these marvelous illustrations take you? Keep up the great work! You are an inspiration! |

Enayla hello I want to say that I saw all your drawings and i have to say that they are superb. I must also say that you are a very generous person of your time and it is super to see people like you in the forum. I have one comment on your drawing, the color to the inferior lip seems to disapear compare to the upper lip is very contrasted.
This is it
Ciao
