When i started drawing this, the pose she was in was just asking for her to hold something REALLY BIG, so i gave her a gun to protect herself in the harsh wasteland. let me know what you t hink, i didn't give it a background, but i suppose i could, i just like it this way.

click here for the old version with implied male genetalia and no background:

The body doesn't look too feminine. Other than that pretty cool.

synj, I'm pretty sure those are not intented to me war scars. At least I think... I saw a documentary on the discovery channel about those tribes. They did all this crazy body things. Alot of them burnt designs on the skin so it's form scars like that. It was kinda neat. Alot of people still do that, just modified.
And they say you can't learn anything from TV! |

No body said all women have to look like a super model. Thats the problem with a few artists. They make women to beautiful, or men too muscular. Remember there are ugly people, average people, homely people, retarded people, think, thin, Whatever...
I like this drawing alot. The character dont have a super bod, or super boobs. Its realistic. Good work man. |

hmm, I think it's just the face that makes her look less feminine, but as it's been said people come in many shapes
she does however have a body similar to the model we had at life drawing today....

Cool! I really, really like this picture. Love the naturalness of it all, her being no super model or such. The only thing I'd do something about is the position of that gun. ...erm...It's in a very...um...close proximity resembling...
Just get that handle part near the trigger away from her groin. Makes her look like a shemale...And the fact her face is on the masculine side doesn't help.
*blush* I'm going to sleep now.

I actually think it's the *gasp* hair. Try covering/cropping out the hair and you should see a man's face. Odd.
Great work, anyway - excellent use of color ... has a beautiful tribal-desert-sandy and muddy feel to it. |

updated the pic adding a background (thanks for suggestion synj!) looks much better now i think. i also made the handle look less like genetalia.. i didn't notice that before, but it started to stick out (no pun intended) more and more each time i looked at it.
I really wanted to try doing a painting of a more natural bodied person, there is too much idealism put into bodies that make the people attractive, but at the same time detaches them from being someone you could talk to, or in this case try to avoid.
I had a lot of fun doing it and i'll probably do some more in the same style, maybe post them here, or maybe in a different post.. depends on the time, hopefully i'll have another done in 2 days! \
maybe...
again, thanks for the comments.. they were quite helpful! |

one thing that's still a bit off, the gun's front handle thing (the grip on the front) seems way too big, kind of makes the gun look out of scale.... |

yeah it is cool to see a waist on a female for once in digitalart that can actually hold a few organs inside it realistically.
i like the addition you added, but the BG seems like its underworked a little in my head. I am not an expert on it really so I can't suggest anything specific like smoothing it or or whatever. Just seems like it was worked on a bit less than the figure up close.
another thing i like is how the background is cropped out longways. cool effect it created this time.
hehe yeah that whole cock thing started blaring with trumpets after the one person mentioned it hehehe
oh yeah, and you're welcome.
