the face looks great, it could use a little more value however. now the hair, it looks tangled, this may have come from the pre sketching. i would suggest making it looks more smooth/straight. other than that excellent portrait.

Well, the file name is Jul1.jpg, so hehe. Wonder who, heck, I still don't know. Looks good, hair looks weird though. And about that shoulder, I think it looks fine (to me), it seems to be the style of her dress. Big fuffy shoulder-pad-thing. Hehe..

I like the colours used here... but damned if I can tell what celebrity it is.

Anyway, I think the shoulder is meant to be a bit "lifted"... not a puffy sleeve, but rather that she is posed so that the shoulder is slightly higher (maybe based on a sitting position where the arm rests on the knee or something?) I think it looks good

Only small complaint I have is the hair... using individual strands like that can work, but then you need to show that some strands are outside of the main "bulk" of the hair, giving it a less flat look. And you need some highlights to give the hair life (as well as some shadows - now, it looks like the hair is more like a wool hat, without any real depth to it - you need to accentuate the individual locks more, and the strands a little bit less.) Am I making any sense?

I think it's suppose to be Julianne Moore, but where the features haven't been caried over correctly it gives the impression of Jody Foster and Heather Graham. I only lean towards Julianne the most because of the flaming red hair. The face needs to lose the 'overly-cuteness' aspect that makes it look like graham and foster (if you're going for moore). Moore has more of a beautiful face than the other two who are more 'cute'.

Golly gosh, I didn't think I'd get so many replies. Thanks for the crits guys, I might do some more work on this image yet, by fixing the shoulder and using that handy hair tutorial that Enayla did (thanks for the link AdezJ).

And yes, it was supposed to be Julianne Moore! I guess I'll have to try harder at getting a likeness next time since only three people got it. Looking back, it does kind of look like Heather Graham and Nicole Kidman.
