Hi there again,
I've been drawing - and here's the results. I really liked the linework for this (maybe I should post it too?), but somehow the end result is as off-color as I feel (I'm sick today, have been most of the week).
Cheers, A. |

A real nice work but you should paint over the line work so you dont get like 10 people saying ( I can still see the lines blah blah blah...anyways good work glade you decided to keep posting! |

WOW!
i agree with MilkMan....soften the linework...because you have a REALLY nice painterly feel to the background, and then you have comic style linework on the figure....
i would say fade them with the eraser (if its on a separate layer) or smudge some colors on it to soften them.
SWEET!

nice drawing, the lightning is excellent on the face the only crit I have, would be that the right leg looks like it havent benn worked on as much as the rest of the drawing, touch it up and it will be a nicer drawing.

Hello A!
Nice work here. I really like the background, nice job. As some of the other guys suggested, try go for a painting. Take away the linework.
The perspective on the window is wrond, you should fix it up.

Hi there guys,
thanks for the replies and encouragement!
Looks like perhaps I need to try to go for a slightly more "mature" version of this style, without (as has been suggested to me MANY times now) the obvious linework. I guess I still have the whole comics thing embedded so deeply in my brain (Moebius, Geoff Darrow, etc) that it's hard to break away from.
Maybe the time to make that break is now.
When I get a chance, I will make some modifications to this pic....
Cheers, A. |
