Well, not to much to say about me. Been lurking here on and off, always being impressed by all the talent .. Used to draw all the time as a kid, but stopped for some reason.. Started again recently..Now I do figuredrawing and will hopefully start painting traditionally.. Anyway, thats enough about me.. As for the pic, well nothing to fancy, from life in about 25 minutes or so...
It turned out pretty well I think, considering i'm usually very slow..

Is it just me, or is the flame moving?

If you look to the side and keep your candle in your periphery, it actually seems like there could be a real candle burning there . . . good stuff. |

i think the blue only comes from burnin matches and gas and various other chemicals...anyway...howd you get the flame to stay still and stop burnin while you painted it??hehehe.. looks cool
cheers.. |

Sacrelicious... I see that too. That happens a lot to me with certain pics. The edges actially seem to ripple and move. |

Thanks for all the replies.. The blue seemed to get a bit lost in the jpeg-compression.. n8 - I would think it has more to do with temperature than chemicals.. Anyone? Also, if you observe an undisturbed flame, you will notice it's shape is actually pretty consistent.. |

The blue-ness of a flame has to do with the oxidizer-fuel ratio. =P
too little fuel (wax) and it gets blue... too little air, and the flame gets smoky. |

Woah! Realism! Nice translucent candle. I'm anxious to see what comes out when you paint characters... |
