Hi, guys! Well, normally I draw cartoony, cel-shaded type pics. For some reason, I got the urge to try out a different style on some random characters I whipped up.
I'd really like some input on what you guys think!! It's just a coloring test, so I'd like to know what you like/disklike, so I can apply that towards future images...
So, without further ado... I present to you...
SPACE FAMILY! (original, huh?)
Too shiny?? Too saturated?? Crit the crap out of it!
Thanks in advance,
peace,

looks good. it doesnt need a backgroud. just a shadow under them, a light one. cause the white i think adds to the bubbly/bright style. its really nice, but his face is a little dark. maybe just a hit of brightness in it will bring it out better.

Hi guys! Thanks for the responses... seems like the style is being well received... cool! It's definitely more time consuming, but I like the freshness of it...
Hmm yeah.. that space-cat totally looks like a dog! HAHHAH! Ok, I'll definitely fix that if I draw these guys again...
I'm thinking about making a new version of this pic with different colored outfits for more variety, instead of just purple. I'll post it when I get it done (should be soon)...
And yeah, no background. Sorry!! This pic's going to be a gift to a family member, who's going to frame it and hang it up with my other stuff, which also has no backgrounds... so, gotta keep with the style!
Good point about his face being too dark, too. I'll have to lighten that up...
Any other crits?
peace,

it looks kinda like that alien guy that floats around on the flintstones.. what was his name again... I think its a really cool picture, but I agree with the quilt comment unless he is some kind of a comic alien braveheart. Also, if you stare at the shiny purple for long enough it hurts your eyes... yeah im an idiot i know... |

Hehe, funnies! I don't like the coloring style too much, but the linework and poses are very nice. Reminds me a little of commander keen... |

Err, thanks for sharing your opinion on the signature, Frost. Why does it bug you so much, out of curiosity?

Ooowe...shiny!
I like it alot....nice colouring imo. Characters are cool too...a backdrop would kill the mood, so wise choice. |
