Love the Butterfly pic, dont like the screeny of the 3d model tho sowwy.
I just feel useing 3dmax for art is cheating heh, too easy to get the effects and lighting.
Not saying its bad far from it... just prefere traditianal art. |

hiya.
i think your 3d scene is pretty good already, i really like the candles and the coins. and the book.
but i feel it would benefit greatly if you rethought the lighting a bit, it quite unexciting as it is.. it is very evenly lit, too much ambient, not enough contrast. some exciting shadows would make it look a lot better, you could perhaps even cast some shadows from obects that are not visible..
dunno, just something to think about. it's nice as it is, but it has potential to be more.
eetu.

The 1st one's sweet. I envy you.
I would like to the 2nd incorporated into flash.
The 3rd one makes me think of spumco! (yay!)
nice skills on your 4 & 5 pics. |

Hello and welcome froggie!
Here's some crits, u asked for it, right?
The 3d scene looks moody and nice.. Crits would have to be the back of the book, which I think looks strange, both the color and design.. (how would u close that book!?) I think it would look better if u made it out of some dark worn leather instead (oh, and a little thinner..)
Alright, the gold coins I get, but what are those two things to the left, they look like some leftover cookies or something
The frog logo looks very good too, but I don't like the line above his nostrils, kinda looks like it's supposed to be his mouth, although it shouldn't be there.
I think the robe your character is wearing has too many folds, but I like the lighting and the occult symbols.
I took the liberty of doing a quick paintover thingy, hope u don't mind
(Just killing some time really)
El Caseron, look here for a tutorial to make a book that looks like that in 3ds max:
