I posted this before, but of course my server was messed up and no one could see it. I think it's fixed now, but if the pic still won't load, let me know.

Well, not bad but it really needs a background.

Still like it. Atmosphere!

And I don't think that it needs a whole backround. I just think somehow it needs a moon in the background. Wasn't there a moon in the other forum?

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, there was a background, but I like the empty feeling the solid black gives it. Makes him look more lost.

Yah but then again... you need tos how the background because there's that other light source. You may jsut try repainting him with only the lantern as a light source. MAkes him look REALLY lost. but anyway, great ...... guy.... hehe reminds me of halloween

not seen you for a while Mr.Usch, keeping well I trust?

Pic looks good, s'got a very Burtonesque feel about it. I've just been reading Tim Burton's poems about the Oyster Boy so your pic is just in time.

I think a big, scary, crooked castle/monster should be silhouetted behind.....scary

keep em comin'

I think its cool - i like esp. the fact that there is no background , id even go as far as taking the light at his feet ( the floor ) away to add to the lost feel

Nice work

Tinusch, your pic reminds me Nightmare before Christmas and I really like the both of them (the picture and the movie). I felt like I had to give it a try and take it even more to the Tim Burton world. I think this turned out way too dark, though. If I can crit your picture a bit, I'd like to see some more feeling in it. I tried more dynamic pose and moody shadows, slightly more dramatic angle.

All in all, you have got a lot of potential in your piece. Mine is just a suggestion. Ignore it.

Your painting, Tinusch, is very nice indeed, but I agree with Bg here: it should be more dramatic. It don't necessarely need a background, but trying a bit different angle could help.

Bg, your re-make is absolutely stunning! And it's not too dark like you said, not at all. The way you use colour and lighting is brilliant and you really caught the feeling of being lost or afraid of something that is lying in the woods... How much did you spend time on this? It's fabulous!

I think it's perfect. I think it doesn't need a background nor another angle.

But h, who am I to not criticize?

Thanks again for the comments. It did have a background, but I didn't get the lost feeling that I wanted, so I just blacked it all out and liked it a lot more.

Bg, awesome pic. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
