To increase my productivity in an effort to improve my drawing skills and to get more stuff done for my application to college, I have decided to let no day pass, 365 days on, counted starting today, without drawing at least 1 DIN A4 (DIN is the German Industrial Norm) picture. So from this day on you will see at least 1 picture done by me every day until January 06th, 2002 (unless I'm away for some days, which means that you'll be bombarded with pictures once I return) .
Today's drawing is a self-portrait. I would have done something else but I had to do this as an exercise in the book I'm currently reading. I did it a little too fast and didn't turn out as good as I would have liked, and I would have liked to start this 365 day thing with something better, but today is over in 8 minutes here in Germany so there's not much I can do about it. So here it is: Critic it if you want to.

My first image post btw. Would have liked to post something better first, but whatever.

It seems ok. But your idea for improvement is a little silly. 365 days? 365 drawings? I probably made 200-400 drawings in a week a few weeks ago but not many this week.

Hmm, I guess what I'm saying is you should concentrate on quality over quantity. It's also not bad to draw with a directed goal.

In other words, take a few weeks and say I'm going to work on learning anatomy. And draw anatomy. Then take a few weeks and say I'm going to study trees and draw trees.

Or try to spend at least 4 hours on a sketch and render it to some detail.

Or make studies for planned paintings.

365 days, 365 drawings, 1 per day is terribly boring and probably not the best way to organize your drawing time.

Well of course I don't plan to leave it at one drawing per day all the time. It's just that in the past I did real drawing frenzys on some days while doing absolutely nothing on far too many days. So by doing at least one drawing per day I have a guaranteed minimum that will be increased significantly on some days.
And of course, subjects will also vary. I plan to do some more stuff than just the one today. The one 365 day drawing will likely be a kind of landscape thing, apart from that I plan to do some studies on human anatomy.
I see your point, but something like this was just necessary for me. With all the stuff I have to do for school and such I just didn't take the time to draw often enough.
