this is a tiny animation I made for a website, it'll probably have a few more companions, and it goes in a kind of LCD screen
anyways, here it is, took me about 40 minutes start to finish
I'll post more when/if I get them done

well I'm not an HTML guy, but here's my attempt to show how that image would be used
home.earthlink.net/~shahar/other-earth/test/untitled-1.htm
the design isn't really my own, I'm working with a friend on this site, for me, but he's responsible for the buttons and shapes, I'm responsible for the LCD addition (the logo was supposed to be flash based, but didn't fit the role.... so I animated the gif)

The motion of the planets is weird. They move in fits and stops. Try to adjust the delays a little to smooth them out. |

well, I don't know, it seems to move perfectly on my computer
the only reason it might move in fits is because while it's 64*64 pixels there are only 18*18 dots that it uses....
would this work as the logo for a site?

really?
here, I'll post the two versions of the site which might help show where the logo will go
the first, not done by me,
the second, has the alterations I made...
although the background shold remain black... ugh...

cool lil anim you got there shahar2k =)
ben has a point though.
when watching the anim in ns (4.7 here)
you'll see what he means.
i believe the proggie you used to compose
the gif in might only export to ie standard.
i like the second gui better =)
together with the anim they look really cool.

could you perhaps mean that the large earth is losing a few pixels when it gets near the edge of the matrix?
accoarding to the frame timing, It should be perfect, I used adobe imageready to animate, (I like their layer system for the frames, so sue me)
I'm still not seeing any problems, the image runs fine on several computers (I have 5 in the house to test on) from a P-100 to my Athelon 800... nothing seems wrong.... I'll look into netscape testing soon but I only have it running on linux... and that's a seprate HD...

nah, the pixels looks ok.
it's the motion that don't look
the same in ie and in ns.
many gif anim proggies suffer from
the lil bugs that sometimes makes
the looping appear strange.
i have used ulead's gif animator
successfully though. |

if I were to request concept artists for Other Earth again, (and perhaps, a programmer and a writer to assist us, since we are short on those) where would that thread go? (I don't want to create a new one and annoy everyone)
