"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain..."

I watched Blade Runner a few hours ago, and I decided that I just had to do a wallpaper fitting the theme. The soundtrack really inspired me, too. I love Vangelis.
Lots of hand-drawn elements are featured in this one (oh boy, faust and Spitfire are going to be surprised ), as well as a few (very few) textures. Enjoy.

BTW, if anyone would like it without the text, I'll upload a textless version, too.

Gotta say there's something I like about this one. It looks a little unfinished in the lower left but upon further reflection and inspection of the high res version I don't mind it. Actually, that brightness in the corner and the same brightness in the Clark sign, as well as the red, keep me moving around the picture. I'm no composition expert though.

It does indeed look like a rainy day in a dreary city, maybe looking out the window of a cab or something, drunk from too much whiskey because he's trying to forget something. Ok, so the quote helped me a bit, but I've always liked rainy cities at night anyway. My first thoughts were actually that of seeing a city from a moving car though.

I think I should have left out the text in the image, though. :|

Yeah, the text isn't really adding anything to this, especially since I can't make out too much of it. The pic stands alone as is.

Just had a thought. If I were doing an image like this based on that quote I would've tried to find or paint something that illustrated those things mentioned in the quote and overlayed them in that red area and maybe another hint of it in the black area in the upper right. Going back to my looking out the window idea I would've tried and make it look like those things were in the reflection maybe. Ah well, just throwing out random crap...it's getting late.

BTW, like I said, I made this after I watched Blade Runner. I don't know if you've ever seen it, but it's always raining in the movie. And the quote is from the movie, too. So... heh. More like a fan wallpaper, if you will.

Heh, this is my last pass of the forums as well. And no, I haven't seen Blade Runner in its entirety...I feel like uncultured swine sometimes, heh. I've seen bits and pieces of it but something always comes up and I never see the whole thing. I will someday though.

Gee, it's only one of the best movies ever made, surely you shouldn't watch it.

Really, it's amazing.

I'm a big fan of Blade Runner myself and I've seen different versions.
Your wallpaper isn't bad, but it is too blurry and doesn't reflect the quote at all. Nexus 6 says that quote when he knows he is going to die and is facing death, and you should reflect that.
Another way of making this would be a panoramic of the building where they are when he says that.
And I wouldn't add the things he says he has seen, because it is there for you to imagine like something you will never see.

Oh, and what's that Clarks banner??

I'm sorry it took so long, but I have been busy for the past few days.
Here's the non-text version.

Textless

Excellent read. Nice picture too.

Never read the book, no. My dad did, though. He's using some of it for his own book - supposed to be a school book that covers several classes, like physics and english, and such.

I'm doing the cover for it, BTW.
