Hey, one week off and the forum's got a new face. I just came back from my holidays in france, this is a sketch i did there. Now let me try to get this little concept sketch into the right place. I guess it's gallery, cause I'm not going to change it. Still I'd like to hear some opinions from you.
I did it with pencil on white paper (BG-color is "photoshopped"). Slight Manga influence was intended. I know it's a little stereotype, but I wanted to do a rather realistic clothing and I love elves... Don't know if I got the anatomy right...does she look odd?

Looks pretty nice. The only anotomical problem I can find is that her chest is a little larger than what I'd imagine an elf to have. Other than that, cool! |

Here, I've taken the liberty of showing the skeleton of your drawing and the fixes I would suggest. I like the drawing technique, but the proportions are off.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
PS: I think her breasts are too big for an elf.

A note about breasts, and what is worn over them... Breasts are generally very...squooshy...hehe -- They will conform to the shape, or their shape will be modified by whatever material is worn around/over them. If her shirt is really that tight, her breasts wouldn't stick out on either side as they would naturally; They would be compressed towards the center of her chest. Hope that helps...

Hi Jaymo! Have a good holiday?
Nice picture, I like the detail and concept, but the head looks a little too big. But then again, she is an elf, so who knows?

Hydrid: Thanx! Yep, chest is a lil too "Xena-oid"...
Anthony: Thanks for the sketch, you're right with the torso and especially the legs. Though you didn't shift the hips much in your sketch... The knees are much too low in my pic, IMO. And I think my next elf should be rather 8 heads tall...
Don't agree on the balance though; she's not supposed to lean on that sword, just holding it loosely on it's tip. Maybe just a little bit...
And her breasts....hmmmm... I am not into big boobs too much anyway; slender figures rule.
g:tech: Hehe, funny to state elves "are usually...". Elves seem to be pretty common nowadays. I agree, though.
Visigoth: Well, in general u r right, but the shirt is ment to be non-tight, as the wrinkles should suggest. Maybe i should arc the folds between the breasts a little more next time... is that english?!
jasonN: Hi, yeah, holiday was fine. Almost.
Yes, it's fantasy, but since we all KNOW these elves are so damn slim, tall and beautyful i'll make the next one an eight-header!
More opinions very welcome, as always. |
