Ok so here it is the stuff that comes out of my ass... sigh and to think that thing took me 2 hours to make...guess since its my first painting period..its alrightof course i didnt feel like doin a back ground but had to show a light source and of cours the nifty lens flare came in handy....sigh (again) rip this apart i just wan to know if you notice the things i do ...please dont pay attention to the background just the mechanical arm thingy once again sigh.
I think i drew and colored better in kindegarten sigh well i guess thats what i get for not really trying to draw anything for 3 years and starting back up...sigh

sigh, i'm having trouble, sigh, figuring out what it is. sigh. maybe you could, sigh, smooth out the shading, sigh, and add some more detail... ...sigh.

hehe thanks for the replys didnt relize that i sighed so much , guess im a lil depressed....well it was supposed to be a robotic arm holding a sphere in the sand...as you can see its far from it. i would smooth it out if i knew how to i wasnt exactly going for teh bumpy dirty look and as far as i am concerned this is finished lol moving on maybe ill come back to it or redo it some other day but not anytime soon...as you can see my prespective is shot...my shading sucks and my coloring is horrid...but ill get better cuz im practicing ...oh and another reason i was sighing is because i was wondering why it took me 2 hours to come out with this. ill never know i can only get better from my mistakes

I'm no great digital painter, hell just started, but don't use the dodge/burn tools or even airbrush so much. They look better for detail (although a few people use them and airbrush effectively) than for main parts. Use the paintbrush to build things, you won't get as much bumpiness to the image.

BTW, it looks like a messed up metal cup and ball game we all had as a kid. Well maybe just me since I was born in like 1706 or some shit.

hehe thanks ya i showed my art teacher and she said it was great i was like hmmmm k and now im going to use it as an assignment so im going to repain teh back ground and add an actual light source rather than lol lens flare haha i just threw that in there to define a light source i dont use plug ins unless im making like an interface or a webpage

ill post the ...um well the other picture when im done with it

Hehe, i think this is quiet good actualy, i hope the foregound was made too look simple on purpose?? it gives the picture a more "silly" feel to it, looks like a clip from the monty python animation

well i wasnt going for that lok but i think it turned out good and smooth,im getting the hang of the dodge tool, havent found the need for the burn and im going to try out some just airbrush and just paintbrush and see which works for me or maybe ill just be an all round type guy who knows thanks for the compliments and im not going to bother fixing up the other one mainly cuz i dont have it in layers and to lazy to do anything with it heh oh well oh and no lens flares haha ithat actually was the first time i have ever used it eh oh well prolly the last time too.
