Gor blimey, I posted this just before the forum split! Although nobody would've looked anyway. Heh. Anyway, I thought it would be cool to post my first works in the digital medium.
This, an addition to the first post, was my first entirely digital piece. It was made with Ulead's PhotoImpact, before I had Photoshop. Filtered to death, of course; it was based on a charcoal sketch of a man transforming into a wolf with the glowing eyes of another shapeshifter behind him.
My first dabble with Pshop. A scanned pencil image "improved" with smudging, clouds, and a discreet lens flare. Of course it was a little more work than that, but it's still funny as hell to look at.
A piece created for a local contest, this won top honors (and 200 bucks!). I love this piece and consider it one of my best.
So let me know what you think! It's fun to dig through your hard drive and find that old stuff you'd forgotten about. Feel free to comment, to post your own old "masterpieces," or even do a repaint if you so decide. Later!
EDIT: Forgot to say, these are from Spring of 2000. I think I was better then than I am now. More productive, anyway. Adios.

That tiger one looks cool, the glowing lines looks like a scene near the end of the anime Spriggan. |

Hey everybody, thanks for all the replies! I guess now that I've dumped these oldies I've got to come up with some new stuff. I'd hoped to get a 6x8 Intuos from a friend for Christmas, but that hasn't happened yet. Looks like I'll be mousing it for a while.
By the way, I still want to know what everyone thinks. Comments, ideas for the future, anything- just let 'em flow.

Some nice work there, I especially like the first pic and the way you've made his eye stand out. If you hadn't have said that those are eyes in the bg I would have thought that they may have been headlights. The second piece is weird. H.R

Hey Axl, when I made the second piece Giger was surely on my mind. Mostly, I had been looking at muscle diagrams and anatomy charts and trying to depict a creature as a sort of biological machine (which, duh, is what we are... just noting my own dorky language). Originally, there were lots of arteries, joints, muscles, and stuff, all exposed to their inner workings. The piece evolved away from that, though it probably would have been cooler that way! Maybe that'll be my next piece. Anyway, thanks for the comments. Keep em coming...
