I already know what is wrong, I'm hoping its not as visible as I think it is. I'd rather not start over.

This is all pencil, but I digital'ed it up a bit HERE, to be used as a menu on a website for my brother.
For some reason, I never bothered looking at this mirrored, and when I did, I almost started crying. Very very mishapen. I was hoping that since I didn't notice it, maybe nobody else would. I'm going to paint over it (I need it for a project). But I can't use retarded skeletons. |

the shading at the shield is not as good as the rest of the pic...could be improved
and i agree with odd, that the shield would fell off his hands.
however, nice pic. particularly the skull suits me. |

Well, you can't really tell, but the plan isn't for him to be holding the shield, but for the shield to be resting (on something), with his hands resting on the shield. You're right, it does look retarded now. Maybe I'll make a chain around his neck holding the shield, like the golden africa on Mr. T's necklace. The shading isn't finished yet (I'll do that in Paint Shop). My main worry though was his mis-shapen skull and crooked crown. |

Uh, where's his colarbone and rib structure? Because the neck vertibrae are still bright leading down into the chest in the image, something of the rib structure would show, otherwise the neck seems too long. |

InitialT, his colarbone wouldn't show, but the the back of his top rib would. You're right, I should make that rib visible. That'll teach me to rush! Thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix it.

Thanks for all the kind comments and help! I've decided that his head isn't deformed enough to start over (unless someone tells me that it is). I'll fix the problems and keep working on it. Please continue to point out any mistakes!

To me, the only serious problem is the shadow on the shield. I think the contrasty dark area really makes the shield look like polished metal, but it obscures the rest of that great rampant lion. have you thought about completing the obscured potion of the lion in dark grey (slightly lighter than the dark area so it's subtle)? Anyway, I think the rest of it looks fine. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |
