ive come this far and im at a loss as to where i should proceed with it. any suggestions, even if they're just to let me know i should forget photoshop and stick to word processing, are apprectiated! thanks.

looks like a Marina from hell version of the main character in the n64 game Mischief Makers, if anyone remembers that.

It looks pretty good to me, I'm not sure what else you'd need to do with it, although I'm not sure why you inconsistently have a white aura around the body. The shading and coloring is good, but you could probably use some definition to the outline on the sides of the bottom of the legs, and occaisionally it looks like your coloring is escaping the line art (like there's some blue invading the chain).
Good pic though, and if you insist and switching back to word processing, you should at least make pretty ascii art.

Wow... thats preatty sick ... I especially like the inviting claws and the skull as a chest plate. But... I dont see any texturing... Great concept thought.

I'm a newb too. Photoshop is Awesome... Get Your Money's Worth and learn as much as you can...
