allow me to introduce you all to superhamster. he's a character in a comic drawn by a friend of mine, doesnt mind his language, shoots the badguys instead of turning em over to the crops, etc.

this same friend, who is sadly w/o a pc or tablet, did a lil doodle of him in ms paint.

i decided to mess with it in photoshop, obviously there is still a long way to go, but i was rather curious of anyone else wanted to try a painting of him too.

and lastly, heres a messed up lil thing i
was screwing around with this last while, the feather is screwed, any suggestions?

rip me to shreds!

cheers

Quint: You've got a nice grasp on shadows, lightning and form. The pictures still look a little flat, though. In the lower pic, you forgot shadows around the base of the candle, so it looks like it's floating. Also, a flame does not emit yellow light like that, it is much redder, orange. And the table probably has a collur as well, so it's a mixture of the two. There is no black colour in nature. Draw sharper shadows from the spiders' legs, would look more dramatic.
Other than that, keep practicing!

Dontfallin: THe answer to your question is probably the opposite reason why you got 1 star - attitude. Maybe if you remove your own rating that you would mellow a bit? Then you wouldn't have to live up to it, you know?

Quint: Here's another thing, think about the highlights that you've rendered on the bottle and spiders. They should be on the side facing the flame. If that candle is the single source of light, there will be almost no light on the other side of the items at all. It makes sense, don't you think?

Dontfallin: *yawn*

Godwin: I completely agree, there should be a separate complaint thread about it...

You call them all children or "kids" and yet you have the most childish response of them all. But not to get caught up in a tiny feud brewing... just adding my 2 cents worth.

dontfallin: First: WHY are YOU in this forums???
People are here to help each other.
You criticise the people who try to help.
No, you don't just criticise them, you call names.
And that's definitely NOT okay.
Relax man...take it easy.
Or just STOP IT.
If you can't then at least use this icons instead of your bad language.

BEHAVE

BG, you are too good to be true!

Dontfallin: You seem to have no interest in showing change on these forums, so there is no point in me telling you what you probably already have heard from others. Your signature reveals your online aims. Good luck on your life, my fellow citizen of the world.

I like the concept in the spider pic. You could experiment with the perspective. I made a fast overpaint to show you what I mean (hope you don't mind):

BG, that's insanely cool

I knew the pics were up to crap, but hey, they actually worked pretty well for what they were intended, got printed on a A3, used as a base to be worked futher, shrug.

I just like messin around in PS, and i hope to get a lot more 'messin around' done once i get a new pc, theres something frustrating about working on a machine with less RAM than the size of your average 3000x3000pixel PS image

Thanks for your comments guys

Oh, and BG, yeah, I'd love to try a couple from different perspectives, darned shame we got school portfolios and exams and stuff happening atm... oh well, i suppose the end is in sight
