A virtual girl will be riding this in a kind of bluish misty environment, talking to the audience, presenting and introducing stuff. What do you think about the design, color etc? Suggestions welcome.
edit: the floating windscreen is supposed to be held in place by invisible energy, not by the driver's strength.

Very nice! I like the "sofa-texture" on the vehicle. The amount of detail confuses me a bit though. I just got an idea- why not make like a comfy chair with hover engines?(what I'm saying is: does the vehicle has to be this large compared with the girl?) I assume you will make a 3d-model out of this? Can't wait!
I am in no position for giving suggestions to a proffessional like you, but hopefully my cents will be of any value.. |

I like the design, simple yet you know what it is. I'll be honest and say I'm not keen on the colour of the seat, the purple looks too strong compared with the black body. I'm not sure what colour would go better, maybe a deep red?
In your diagrams I'm finding it hard to see how she would sit in the closed cockpit version. On the opened version where she's sitting she looks too big to be able to sit comfortably when the cockpit is sealed. |

I think it doesn't close although I thought the same thing at first. Kind of agree on the purple bugs my eyes a little. Anyway I like it ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Excellent feedback, thanks... yes you're right the vehicle only closes when parked and unoccupied. Yes the cushions are too bright. Playing with light in the way Frost mentions is a good idea and something I completely forgot this time... I'll brainstorm some more. |

If she is a spokes model type gal, I would suggest you stay away from dark grey, purple..etc.
Try pastel colors on white or light grey, or typical aqua gear colors. White, pale grey, cadmium orange/yellow, pastel blue, frosty green..etc. You get the idea. |

Nice stuff Steven -- nice to see you again; I thought you had abandoned forums altogether.
I haven't payed much attention to the design of the vehicle, here's an idea / comment that I'd like to give on the colors.
I think I would swap the saturation of the interior and the exterior -- here's why (in my stupid oppinion). If the exterior were colorful (say red), it would make it easier to spot the pod in a faded world (if I read your description properly). Far away shots of the world would benefit from this as the viewer would be able to locate the pod more easily as it's traveling in a scene.
The interior cushioning could be kept a little more low-key, to give extra focus to your character (if it's one of you wonderful 3d female models, that would be a great benefit). The super-saturated bright and too-warm background behind the character will make her skin pale and sickly in comparison, which is probably the opposite of what you want (a warm tanned sexy character).
You could also want to have the exterior dark like you have it now and have the interior of the pod voluminously (what?!) lit with a bright saturated color bathing the character and interior. That would also make the pod visible from a far shot as the glass area would be a lit one making it's tracking easy on the eye... maybe even distributing some light in the smog particles around the pod locally...
Just some ideas, I hope they make sense.
Again, nice seeing you.
Frost

I am with Lunatique on this one.
I was gonna suggest you use a bit more gold or orange to go in contrast with your purple.
Now that I think about it, you should even go and make the whole body of the machine orange/yellow. This would nicely contrast with the misty blue background you say the model is supposed to be evolving in.
For the design of the vehicle, well, this is purely IMHO of course, but I think there should be some sort of connection between the body and the cockpit thing.
I know you say the passenger is not holding the cockpit with the strength of its arms, but it just look too much like what is happening.
Maybe if you had a sort of very thin retractable arm thing going from the bulging metal part at the bottom of the seating (middle of the vehicle) connecting with the bottom of the cockpit (possibly with a slight non-glass part) ? |

The design is interesting, certainly different. I agree with the prior c&c. The thing that I question is, why have the carried piece fit over "canopy" style, when it is not a canopy? I mean, it appears that while she operates the vehicle (standing or sitting) it is her combo controller/windscreen. That's cool, but it appears cumbersome and does not need to be so large. The requirements on the concept may make it a moot point, and I like the whole "fit it together" thing...but if she doesn't "fit into it" as well, then wny not make something a little handier for her to hold. That's all I am saying It looks cool, regardless. |
