Hi everyone,
Fantastic forum, definitely excellent stuff here. Have only been around for a few days, but I've been looking for something like this for a long time! Thanks people!
I've been trying to get back up to scratch with my drawing skills, as I need to do some illustrations. I'm having some problems with the general posture - feels very stiff and unnatural to me. I bet there are some serious flaws, I can see them, but just not work it out. So maybe you guys can help me out. Also there are some blurry unfinished areas around the boots, and her left hand/arm is a bit funny maybe... well the whole thing is unfinished (no shading, lalala) but I'm sure you understand what I mean.
I'm not a pro, as you can see, but I'm learning so any criticism is welcome - (btw. I'm not sensitive... )
Regards
Hans a.k.a elvis

Hey nicely done.
The head altogether doesn't fit right to me it almost seems that it is not centered on the neck, I can see why you did this for her stance but it seems like you took it a bit far, but hey I am very far from an anatomy expert,
anyway the rest looks good to me.
Also if you don't mind me asking what is she for? |

anatomically speaking the thorax and abdomen could probably be longer...
.. the biggest problem is the face.. I don't know where to start.. I think the entire face should be redone..
..finish off the fingers! |

Agreed, I'll try to do something with the head/face. As for the fingers on her right hand, definitely - I haven't got as far as working the details yet but yes, will do.
xmmx, you were right about the head - moved it a bit to the right, and I think it looks a bit better now.
I stretched her abdomen a wee bit, and it seemed to make a great deal of difference, thanks DrDel!
It would be great to know more in detail what is wrong with the face though.
Admittedly it's a bit asymetrical, and not very detailed - but I could do with a bit of guidance on this one.
I personally think her left arm look weird - any thoughts on this?
Cheers guys, you're great!
By the way, it's for an online sci-fi game I'm working on. It's here...
Quick update [moved head, lengthened abdomen]

Welcome elvis.
Her hair style reminds me on star wars ( princess xyz in the first 3 parts )
I think the problems in the face are the
eyes the eyebrows and the mouth.
I did a quick paintover to show you what I
mean cause my english is too bad to describe it.....
Hope that helps.
btw.: really like the design of her clothes.

Max, thanks that helped a lot.
I've made some adjustments to the face, and her left arm. Added a bit of detail to her fingers. What do you reckon, looks better I think.

Okay, still working on this thing...
Flipped it over and tried to color it. Not really too happy with the way it's going so far - so I would really appreciate any good pointers/critique here!
Thanks!

the hairline is just too high dude, you do great work, except for faces. um, add some more detail to the gun, theirs nothing wrong with the abdomen, just try making the crotch a little less wide |

Haha, agreed - the face looks terrible, I know. I'm trying to get it right but it just won't play.
Well, just gotta keep trying... Fixing that crotch thing too, I'll be back... |

I'll give my first crack at giving you some advice, since really, I like ur pic...
anyway, I really can't give you any suggestions on the face, but as for the coloring...her boots are really, just fine, I liked the way you colored them. But her clothes, her pants in particular, look really flat, I think it's because of the lines, you might want to smudge them a bit, like you did her boots, so that her body doesnt come out looking weird, where her boots look 3D-ish yet her body looks 2D-ish...hmm, dunno if that came out right, but maybe you will get what I'm saying
Or maybe I just can't see very good, cause really, when I look at it again, the whole picture looks 2D, which is cool, but when I look at her boots, they look 3D....heh maybe you shouldn't pay any attention to me, lol
Other than the issue I have with my perspective (might be time to bow up and get me some glasses) I really like the overall coloring, the way the skin came out and all the various highlighting.....basically because I'm a newb and still havent figured out how to get my coloring to look quite that nice. Hehe, good job

Okay - another update...
Improved? You tell me, ok? : )
The coloring is not great, I know - I'm only just learning to color with the wacom, so you might call this my first proper attempt.
The pose/anatomy is not brilliant, but maybe not too bad? The head/face, might be off in more ways than one...
So any tips/comments you might have are welcome. How do I get a less stiff pose? How do I improve on the anatomy? How can I get better action going with the colors?
Thanks guys and gals.
