A friend of mine from work is part of a clan for Darkages of Camelot and asked me to redo thier banner. Here is their old one:

and my concept for the new one:

I'm having some trouble making the cliffs look realistic/interesting at such a small scale. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any other comments on the overall layout would be appreciated as well. I plan to put a band of adventurers and a ring of standing stones on the clearing on the right as well.

Thanks,

JN

Yo!

Back again with some progress. I darkened and subdued the color of the rocks to push 'em back. Haven't touched the rest of it yet, I'm still not 100% on the color of the rocks as it stands, I want to use some aireal perspective on them. Probably just add some haze to their upper edges.
I'm also working four times the finished size (probably should be working 3 times, you get lest distortion scaling by thirds). You all think I'm headed in the right direction with the cliffs then?

Been focusing on the rocks, and giving them some texture. Added a few more details and fixed some issues with the horizon.

Pleas let me know if you like the way its coming along. Particularly lighting: I gotta tone down highlights all over...
