Hey all,
I've got my three year old website up on a free server. It's time to revise. It's actually long overdue for revision. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone out there would give me a few honest suggestions on changing the site.

Here's the URL:

http://www.spiraleye.250x.com

First, my two bits:

A) I think I need to change the color scheme, and though I'd like to do flash, that's out, because I don't know flash, and don't feel I can take the time to learn it now.
B) The highbandwidth/lowbandwidth opening page needs to go, as does the midi music.
C) I want to change the site to focus only on my artwork and other professional work now, so I'll remove the rants and raves.
D) I like the mouseovers (even though they only work in internet explorer) and I like the index setup. Something more creative might spice it up, but I'm concerned about computer-illiterate types having a hard time checking out my artwork, so I tend towards the straightforward index.

Now your two bits, please. What's the #1 thing you'd change about the site? What's the worst thing? What the best thing?

Thanks in advance to all who reply with honest crits.

Max-- I'm sorry, but I don't quite follow you. What do you mean about the blinking garishly pages? That you think the colors are garish right now, or is there some kind of blinking when you view the website? I don't mean to sound dense,; I'm just not catching what you're trying to say.

Maybe to learn the basics, but to make a website? I'm already proficient with my little HTML so I know I can pump out a new site post haste. I hate to sound so pessimistic, but I just think I'd spend a LOT longer trying to put together a flash site than an HTML site.
Then again . . .
4 hrs, huh? That's a surprisingly short amount of time.
