That is totally fantastic. But shouldnt the torso be more at a steeper angle? I am thinking of the one from III and IV, if thats a different version my mistake Ecellent piece though.

Its very cool, but actually its not that much like the Vulture
the Vulture actually has arms that end in those cannons, and dont have those little cannons on the front
Also, the cockpit in on the front, not the top
heres one from the battletech books
btw, whtats up with the "brazil" on the picture?

@ ReK0:
Thanks! ( searching for Post ;] )
@ Drift Kid Runner :
Hmm... Can't say if its steeper...
Just ha a small reference by hand...
Its the one from MW4:Vengeance
@ A/R:
Not possible because of the Cocpit itself...
The displays and control elements would totally block the view...
@ Kalfor-:
Yep... Your picture shows the "old" conzept FASA used for the Games MW1-3 but M$ changed it in MW4 ( which i choose )
"Brazil" is a render plugin for 3DS Max...
I got a version thats free so i think that's whe hes doing the "cinema bars" on top and at bottom of the pictures... |

Oh now i remember why I didnt get mw4...
the tain of microsoft corrupted the good "old" mechs
the rendering is amazing, loved the details
the inside of the cockpit looks great
this POV doesnt help much to see the mechwarrior's line of sight, and kind of makes it look like the screens are on the way
give us a 'warrior's view from the cockpit when you got it finished for out pleasure
great work!

Here you go...
Placed the camera where the pilot would have his head with a FOV of 90 looking a little bit to the left ( for the sidewindow ) but not up or down... |

Monolith : Virtual World is (or at least WAS in my city) an entertainment complex where you could play Battlemechs or Red planet. The nifty thing about it is that it was an arena battle BUT you were playing in a pod. Sitting at the commands it would look/feel exactly like being at the commands of a mech minus the smoke smell and movement of the whole thing of course
All in all 3 big screens (one in depht), about 11 mini screens, throttle, industrial joystick, pedals (for torso twisting), and about 40 buttons for obscure functions only someone playing in PRO mode could know.
Locate your pod, close door, darkness.. wait for mech to come online.. time to KICK TIN CAN ASS !
and "sob" is.. well a sob. I was sobing.. i.e.: crying. Not calling anyone names mind you
Do you plan to have more models like this ? |

I was under the impression that most mech's didn't have usable windows. Instead, the screens show camera views of the outside world. |

@ egerie:
Aaaah! ( enlightened )
In an OLD collectors boockseries i have a picture of that POD... ( well... i think i have )
@ Catfish:
90% of the pilots view are managed through the Windows... The other 10% from cameras mounted on the back and bottom of the mech...
@ Godwin:
The newer generations of mechs have neurohelmets ( huge pieces! ) allowing the pilot to control the mech by thinking the actions...
Older generations of mechs work like an airplane with joysticks, thrustcontrolls and things like this...
Both versions have a HUD but this is just for targeting and gaining some basic informations from the mech like damage, overheating, etc... |
