o well, my feeble attempts at 3ds max. im still exploring the vast interface, however i cant figure out how to attach the mesh to the bones with a different way than using the envelope modifier. its soo annoying. well here goes. be as harsh as you can

Nice work.. Try the skin modifier.. it's much simpler than physique and it allows for typing absolute values for each and every vertex! (send me an email if you need help setting it up) |

@gArGOyLe^ thanks, im very very flattered ^__^
@Dekard he he he. its not that hard really, you just have to think of what you want, and just use the standard primitives and the extrude bevel cut and a few other modifiers.
@Guy i dont think im gonna texture at all, im gonna make materials and change the colours, but not more. might texture a few parts that need it thou, but not all.
@Ecanem sweet dude, thanks alot! ill play around with it, and if i get stuck ill drop you a mail, thanks ^__^ |

Zak great stuff...i like the detail of the control seat. the one and only thing i can pick out (which you probably already fixed) is the single wire bundle or hydrolic line that runs from the side to the top of the middle pivot looks a bit sharp when it curves.
(i wish i could pull off baby steps like that) |

@FalConTear that problem should be fixed when im gonna apply smoothing. you really have a sharp eye for things, i have to admit that i have missed that one
@JFreak this is my second piece of 3d. (appart from making boxes and teapots with brick material applied) im guesssing ive been on max for two maybe 3months now
next step would probably be refining the engine ie adding more detail, and adding the moving hardshell and the wings |
