So I'm working on this dark demon guy, there's still a good amoun tof stuff left to do, but any comments are welcome.
I'm thinking maybe he looks a little too... flat? But once I add a background I'll probably fix that problem up by adding the necessary lighting/ shadows, depending on how do the background. So far I basically decided the light source is up and to the left a little. |

If the light source is where you say it is then I suggest working with the contrast a bit more. The background will decide as to how dark or light your overall tone will be but from what I can see on this painting the light source seems to be infront of him because if it were comming from the left, his right side should have less light on it and right now his entire body looks pretty uniform in that department.
I think the character looks great, but the pose (dont kill me for saying this) is a bit stiff. I love full frontal shots, dont get me wrong, but even if you gave him a slight stride in him, it would make it that much more dynamic (as though he were comming for ya) you could easily do this at the stage you are at now.
Can't wait to see it finished man, keep up the good work. |

You're right. I'll probably work toward darkening the right side in the end. He does look real evenly lit. |
