Youza!! That has some great depth to it, I particularly like the modeling of the shape with the paint. Love to see more.

It looks supa. Only comment I have is that at first glance its hard to make out whats going on with the front legs. For a while I thought he was 3 legged. I think if you made the effort to separate the two better (maybe darken the rear front leg, and lighten the front leg) and clarify them a little more it would help a lot. |

I doubt this is your idea, but you could also do a lion/bull colour scheme. That'd probably look good too. I like it though, great drawing. |

I must say I dig the image a lot - the colored version is superb imo, I just love the attention to detail and the color-scheme ain't half-bad either. It also somehow remind me of the Lion King.
And if I were to change anything in the pic, it would be putting less detail to the hind legs and the hind part of the beast in general, just for the effect. |

Hey excellent ! I was reminded about Creed for a moment there..
I especially like the head on the pencil version. |

BasementBound: Thanks more will come.
mitch: Yeah, i have to agree. I am going to be adding more shadows to the legs to give more depths so it doesnt look like he has some weird deformit coming out of the front of him.
lalPOO: Well originally he was a brownish color, but i changed it to its current color because i thought it would be sweet to make his skin more like an elephants..
Marvel: Thanks and lion king eh...? Oh noes
NeFF: Thanks a bunch
egerie: creed?? really?
thanks for the coments and crits guys. i am going to finish it asap.. cus i have more to do for the portfolio stuff. |

Very good. What software are you using for the coloring ?
My only crit is maybe the eyes are slightly too human? I'm saying that probably because it looks more like a beast than a hybrid human creature, so the eyes give it an intelligence that might not be there.. dont know.. very cool anyway, great shapes. |

I think you'd get much stronger results by playing with self-casting shadows more. ie. forms casting shadows across forms. At the moment it's all too globally lit. |

I agree with Sumaleth and would add that if you darkened the background considerably, lessened the lighting in the back of the figure and popped the highlights more as you worked your way forward would really help this image come alive even more. Maybe some subtle distant light to silhouette him some?
*Guess what you didn't see lurking in the shadows?*
Nice work. Keep at it. |
