I stay, if anybody gives a shit about it.

I read this forum for a VERY long time, before I thought I was worthy to join. Most people would think I�m insane, when I tell them HOW important this place is to me.

I won�t run away, just because it�s in trouble today. Will do anything to make it better. I believe that you won�t find such place anywhere else. If it really would go down, it would HAVE to be created again.

Maybe people are forgetting wwhy they come here. Artists and aspiring artists alike need external, unbiased opinions on their work. If an artist has been working on something for a long while, they may grow a biased for a piece (conscious or subconsciously) and may have a hard time seeing all of the flaws throughout the piece and what neeeds changing.

That's what a critique is, man... The evaluation of an artist's work.. And we're not always doing the greatest job critiquing here.... You guys ever have a critique of artwork for an entire of 15 people? That can take 2 or more hours of class time up cause the instructor spends quite a bit of time with each piece of art. They study it and they give you valuable input as to "what went wrong", and what should be fixed... sometimes they even have other students give their opinions on what they think went right and what they think went wrong. A critique does not include a simple praise report, which is commonly the only responses some people get in the Gallery/Finished Work... either that or many times it's just simple negative non-constructive responses.

Uh.. oh yea... and I'm staying here...

Frankly, I'm getting tired of hearing teary-eyed "how-good-it-used-to-be" nostalgia. You all sound like old men with your pants pulled up to your nipples gnashing your toothless gums about today's young whippersnappers. Things change. Get over it.

If the people quitting can't see the value of what's here we're better off without them.

You know, stneil777 is immature and annoying, but at least he's not whining.

i totally agree with totally

i always try to make my crits of peoples art non biased, but it is hard. especially when there is so much art posted every day, so ive gotten lazy. im staying though, gunna try and crit more art too.
