wow.
gimme a sec, gotta pick up my jaw.
...okay, there we go.
the only thing wrong with it that i can see is that it's not finished. so, uh...hurry up and finish it.
i dunno. maybe add some wires or cabling? entirely up to you, it's looking like it's gonna kick major ass as soon as you're done. |

What is this? Photoshop?
Very sharp and nice, I like the texture. Closeup please?
I really dig how you make colors appear saturated (brilliancy), and how you handle reflective lighting.
It's a bit too 'monotoned' I think, perhaps you should make some parts in another color? The balance is a little off as a leg is missing, and a sideview isn't particulary interesting. |

I rather think that the two incoming missiles sort of mess up the composition, but then again I haven't completed my art education yet. I can also see them adding interest and bringing the eye to the point of focus, but they do seem to run against the grain a little. |

I think you handle forms and especially textures well, Roundeye. But what I like the best about what I've seen so far is your colour handling. It usually stays visually balanced though the palette may seem highly unorthodox to me. Could you tell the struggling artist what your basic thoughts are about colours when you start a piece? How do you choose, and what is most important to keep in mind while you proceed?
Thanks,

You know I adore your stuff, but dude, paint a landscape for me, please!
The composition seems kinda empty to me. Just a big character floating around in the middle of the image. Your loafie pic was incredible because it had all the elements of a great piece. This one lacks that complexity, in my humble opinion.
But like I said, you completely own any other digital artist, so I'm not qualified to suggest anything to you. But at least think about it, wouldja? ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

LOVE the image you have a very good eye for colour, I love the way this piece is coloured, looks very dusky desert. The mech looks wonderous, very organic yet mechanical, I really love it... but...one main problem, there's nothing happening in the pic. There's a missile that's sort of floating off in the direction of the guys invisible attacker. The missle looks too large to have come from the mech and is so clear and crisp it looks like it is travelling at 30 kph, with smoke puffing out the back instead of screeching out of the back end. I don't know what you can do to change this piece now as you can't exactly change the perspective on the mech or anything, you could've had a view from below and behind the mech with some rooftops in the bottom of the pic and maybe a mech further away in the distance, then have your two trails fading that have come towards you, so we go " ah must've missed " then paint a missile on it's way back to the enemy, or lots ala robotech, there's a nice little story, the composition would be balanced, make sense, and you can add in a bit of that landscape everyone's after But this picture is great and lovely, I just don't think the composition is thought through... |

Awsome to watch the process of this piece.
Well...you know you made a couple of people jump out of the window already so I don't have to tell you it's good...
Keep the missiles...they make it dynamic.
the 3rd time today I change my wallpaper... ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Nice work roundeye.
My buddy Jeff worked on a game called Slave Zero, which had a similar style to it.
Very cool.

Hmm... Me has a big smile on it's face thinking about an idea with the rockets...
Ever seen the anime Macros? Reminds me a little bit of it...
I just miss the spam of rockets ( lots of rockets!!! ) they used in the fighting scenes in space and I would be happy...
( but hey... That's just me )
Rofl... Didn't watched the name but i thought: "Dude! You know that style from somewhere..." ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |
