Hi,

There is some awsome stuff being shown here, and this is the first time I show any of my works here. I hope you'll like them and help me make them better. I draw only for a hobby, and only occassionally, but I think I'll be doing more than usual this summer.

I created this sketch today during two separate occassions. First time roughing out the initial pose and figure; second time making some alterations, refining lines and shading sligthly. No reference was used. I'm currently working with pencil and paper, as I still feel uncomfortable drawing directly on the computer (using a Graphire). I plan to finish a black'n'white sketch and then do the coloring on the computer (2 separate layers, with the bw one using Multiply).

What I'd like comments on in perticular is the anatomy. I'd also like comments on how to think and do the shading, as I haven't done alot before - I've mostly just drawn the lines and been happy about it, fearing any attempt at me shading might spoil the picture. If you know a good book on any of the subjects (except Burne Hogharts) please do tell me.

Don't mind the pointing pinkies, I plan to curl them up and also rotate both hands slighlty, either inward or outward, to make them look more interesting and not so flat. The facial expression I know already I have to work with, but I'd still like suggestions on what to do with it. I also know the ribs are too clearly marked. The ribs and muscles on them are gonna be showing, but not THAT clearly. The current lines are just "placeholders". Later on, I'll be putting some clothes on her aswell (it won't be anything big though), but first I'd like to draw full nude - give or take a few guns.

Thanks!

I think the hips are a bit to manly at the moment, maybe not wide enough, should be interesting to see it finished

Looking at it, I think the upper body is rendered fairly well(except for those weird looking ribs). The only real crit I have is from the waist down.

The hips aren't well defined, especially considering that you're drawing a female. I think the hip joint on the left of the picture is placed a little high. Her thighs are different sizes. Add a little more meat to the one side and maybe reduce the other side just a little. Or maybe just reduse the one side. That may work a bit better.

The calves are way too big for the figure that you've drawn. Reduce them and also straighten out the one on the right of the picture. Legs do look a bit curvy naturally, however there is still a bone in them that goes straight from the knee to the ankle, and it does line up with the thigh bone.

One last thing, at the neck it seems like she's too thin and a little muscular at the same time. It just don't look quite right. Maybe let the muscle that connects the neck to the shoulders be a bit more flat. And overall, try to develop longer curving lines to define the figure. It adds a bit more to the sensuality of the female form.

I like this pic though, has a kind of a John Woo/ Chow Yun Fat feel to it with the dual guns. Keep it up and post updates for us if you will.
