This is a quick sketch I whipped up to try and develop my sci-fi skills a bit. Almost all the stuff i have done previously has a strong fantasy/ sword and sorcery feel to it, so I wanted to show some variation.
The idea behind this was pretty generic, a futuristic female bounty hunter, I had no specific world or environment in mid so I just tried to develop a costume I like. The gun still needs alot of work but it gives the idea
any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

nothing i can say would better that.
your style is very simple yet very detailed at the same time, and i really like it.
you wouldn't happen to have a homepage, would you? i'd like to see some of your fantasy stuff.
keep up the brilliant work =D |

my website is almost up, it's just in the final stages of fine tuning so when that's done I will post a link, but for now here are a couple of fantasy drawings
enjoy ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

damn, yo.
that only serves to further compliment your sci-fi endeavor, if i may say so. whereas fantasy is more nitty-gritty details like warts, cracks, dirt, etc., (or so i believe) sci-fi is all about cleanliness, and you've gone from one to the other nicely.
so, i guess all that amounted to was...damn fine job.
edit: question i've been meaning to ask for people who use brown pencil...what specific pencil is that? i was thinking, (dark) brown Prismacolor colored pencil, but it doesn't seem to get the consistency that has been exhibited.
(btw, i think i found something nit-picky enough for C&C...her striped pads that start from her hip downward. you could probably take a ruler and even 'em up a little, but that'd be pure folly simply from the time wasted. your choice, though =D)

Awesome fantasy stuff, my only beef with the sci-fi girl is that her face looks really flat, its hard to describe, so just look at it closely for a moment, and how the chin doesn't seem to exist... coloring could definitly fix that tho. |

hmmm, I can see that too now. The person I drew it for wanted me to try and put a bit more 'anime' influence into my work, so therefore I tried to cut down on all the unneccessary details in the face to try and match that style.
Maybe it just doesn't fit with the rest of the drawing. I do agree with your point, just not sure how to fix it without losing the slight 'anime' feel. |

Cool drawings- tight rendering! A more work on the figure drawing would make it very competative in the genre. |

thanks for the comments again people
As for the question about brown pencil, the answer is simple - Photoshop :P
I drew the pics with a regular HB mechanical pencil but changed their hue in PS to give it that look, just to add a bit more interest.
KARI: yeah my figure drawing has slumped, I havn't done any life drawing for a couple of years now and that stuff just doesn't stick unless you keep at it. I guess I should try and do some more, or at least draw from life instead of my imagination! |

Hey Bastion you have an excellent imagination- keep drawing from your head. One thing I do is I use a digital camera to shoot reference for key parts of a composition. I rarely have time for figure drawing too. |
