hm, the scene looks good, but it doesn't look much like Kaneda at the moment. Remember, Kaneda's face is a little bit rounder than that. This person has a very lean face. Also, his neck looks really thin as it is. Kaneda's jacket was orangey-red in the anime, but that's a style thing too . The bike looks dead on, although turning the windshield into an actual glass pane could add a lot to the picture. Altogether looks good so far! (If it weren't for the character needing to look like Kaneda, I wouldn't mention half of these nitpicky things ) |

Thanks. Yeah I'm having trouble with his head and making it look like Kaneda. But when your going from the manga, its a bit hard. Maybe a bit more referencing from the covers would help. I'll get to it.

I'd suggest you perhaps shrink the head down a bit, and bump up the color saturation a little more, like so:

composition could be a lot stronger.
you should show the clown gang on their bikes
more. also a horizontal composition would be better to show the vast neo tokyo behind them
and to show the surrounding better.
this will give you a more "cinematic" feel to your pic.
also the bike seems a bit off perspective.
made a ruff repaint with the underlaying grid showing... to explain the whole lot.
his face looks allready promising.. |

Well, it may not look like the original, but since I haven't seen what this character is based from, I can tell you that I like the first (the tall thin one) picture's face alot better. The second one is unnatural, big, and flat. Awesome job so far, I think it could be darker, just about as dark as in that awesome example tek gave. And while the head might stand being a tad smaller, I think that other example's head by Motofish is a tad too small for the body. so meybe something in between.
And wow, tek gave you some awesome stuff to work with ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Sorry guys, I've given up on this comp. I've started a new thread here: New Post.
I just didn't think I could pull off something cool here. I aslo didn't want to do something that had already been illustrated in the movie. Why illustrate something that someone's already seen, right? Thanks a lot tek9z you're rendition actulally inspired me to move away form this one in search of a more dynamic piece. So, maybe if you guys wanna let me know about the other one and if it really is an improvement that would be wonderful.
JN
P.S. Thanks for the input, I don't want anyone to feel i'm blowing it off. I'm not. |
