In case you're wondering what the hell is going on, let me explain:
"For KORN�s next headlining trek, they'll be accompanied by a deadly yet useful femme fatale. KORN frontman Jonathan Davis recently commissioned H.R. Giger to come up with an idea for a special mic stand which would also be a piece of functional art. Giger designed, bio-mechanical mic stand cast in the shape of a woman. Only five stands will be manufactured at a foundry in Zurich from molds that will then be destroyed -- instantly adding to their historic allure and value. Jonathan has receive two of the stands and an option for a third, should he decide to need it or to make one available to a museum of his choice."

Now I know HR Giger probably was happy to make a sculpture regardless of the crappiness of his client and he was probably oblivious to the fact that Korn makes bad music. Maybe I'm neurotic or something, but this sort of pisses me off.

On a final note, here is what Davis has to say after visiting Giger's home in Switzerland:
"It was a trip," Jonathan says. "He took me into his house and we kicked back and talked all night. All I did was ask him to make a functional piece of art. So later, he sent me a bunch of drawings and I approved the design of this really sexy, vile, mechanical creature." Cast in metal, Giger's design features an otherworldly, oversexualized female creature. Jonathan's microphone is integrated into the sculpture's head. "I really like it, because I'm totally into Giger's erotic work," Jonathan says. "He took me riding in a train he built for himself, a realization of his childhood dream," Jonathan enthusiastically recalls. "It's like this two-seater death train. You drive through his backyard around his Zodiac Fountain of twelve amazing sculptures and through narrow tunnels just big enough to squeeze a body through. It was eerie. He's such a unique character. Dark yet, at the same time, very human."

whats the big deal? its not like his work was comprimised. what pisses me off is attitudes like yours. korn does suck huge balls but whatever.

dont mind me, i lost all my artistic integrity as soon as i moved out on my own. haha

all I am saying is Korn sucks and Giger is semi-associated with them now...

I don't see how ore opinions differ enough for yours to isolate mine as "sucking"

jep i think giger just likes to push is art into the medias and make money. i like most of giger paintings and dont like korn either. e.g. there is a band in germany called 'boehse onkelz' thats is probably only known in germany and their music video is with art from... giger ! giger knows how to make money with art (just like faustgfx

). he is not such a poor artist like van gogh that dont had success in livetime but an damaged ear...

sorry panda. i know it was light hearted. one thing though, giger was allways a commercial artist, so he cant really sell out. can he? maybe if HE as well thought they sucked big balls, but did it anyways cuz hes greedy or a crackhead.

where are you all getting that Korn sucks? their first album (thats less known since it was before their 'TRL' music) is like the new genre of music altogether

oh my god, Giger sold out to the devil. What about doin the art for the alien movie, I guess that's not selling out or something [and all his other commercial art]. So apparently to the quote you provided it seems like Giger and the Korn singer know each other somewhat well, so Giger basically did something for a friend. Who cares if the music sucks or not... [personally I like a bunch of songs]

Bought that issue, never read the article though. Mic could've been better....his work is usually much better. X the vocalist and Korn's music isn't bad at all imo...don't really care about yours.
