This is far far far to preliminary to comment on. Its impossible what direction you are going to take based on this preview.
Also, add some sort of a background to make the image look finished (when you actually work on the real thing). I hate it when painters think they don't need to add any sort of background, because then their good painting is floating in a world of shit. |

You need to "feel the line" better. See all the "scratchy" marks around the lip? Try to make smooth flowing lines. Use as few lines as possible to convey the meaning -- erase a line if it is wrong and try it again.
Yes, try to feel the lines. I advise you to trace some hair locks or something for practice.
Also, notice how you just marked in the colors in a hurry? This is okay for say a color composition thumbnail but this is very hard to work with.
.. You are working from photorefernce I guess.. so you might want to take your line drawing and use a new layer and draw over it and make it very nice.
You then might want to try to fill in all the areas of the picture in solid colors (the local tone).
And then apply shading..
Study the old masters, drawing on right side of brain, my article, and general painting technique.
Its not that hard but you have to learn what you are doing.
... The good thing about this picture is it shows a lot of expression and energy but you'll have to develope some skills too.
Also, try to check out some of Greg Pros technique. He has a good picture that shows "edges".
Maybe I'll write something on edges too in future. |

This doesn't even remotely resemble Brad Pitt, whatsoever. |

Yea, if you download a picture of Brad Pitt and apply all types of filters to it, it works a lot better. Ask senate, he's an expert.
If only all of us could trace like you, senate. |

Neat! This has a very strong Craig Mullins influence. |

I understand all that you know how I should do it, but this wasn't ready!!! Just a sketch. But, thanks for good advices!

Why didn't you post it under Work in Progress? Or Speed Painting? I don't think you missed the giant GALLERY/FINISHED WORK sign. I'm sorry for being rude, but this really seems like a joke. I'll take everything I said back if you're under the age of 12. |

I'm actually ashamed at the extremely bad tone in many of the replies you got, Hannu.
However, listen to the good Light, who has taken the time to properly investigate your troublesome areas. Not much to add, really Also, I'd personally like it if you in the future post a downsized version of your artwork instead, it will make it much easier to look at and critique! |
