Taking a brief break from painting and getting back into 3D by (re)learning Surface Tools in MAX. I'd learnt it very basically last year and hadn't touched it since. But yesterday I did the tutorial in the 3dsmax tut book (ugly lookin' rhino) and a dog which doesn't really look like a dog... but hey! Look what I did today:
It's modelled from a Yowie animal toy Nan gave me from her corn flakes packet. @:-) It's supposed to be a Dog-Faced Pufferfish. I referenced the toy and not the photo, so I'll try and get a pic of it soon. Only the head so far, but I think I might try and complete it.
A quick texture effort:

The keyword in my last post re the texture was 'quick'. @;-) The mapping I did for it was just a planar whacked on there, so very little effort in the texturing department.
On that topic, anyone got any links or advice for texturing high poly models? Apart from standard UVW/Texporter methods or warezing Deep Paint? @:-)

Another update:
Side and top+bottom fins still need to be added, then I'll texture. |

Update:
Once again I'll ask, any tips on texturing high poly models?
Damn typos. @:-p
