Here's the next piece I'm working on. It's a Frank Miller inspired Wolverine. I just wanted to know how it's looking so far. I mean, do the features seem to be placed correctly so far? I this is about 20 minutes of work, so if I need to fix something, I was hoping to catch it early on

Thanks for the help guys.

I don't quite see the Miller influence, and I think he's missing some of that ultra-cool and intense look in his eyes, that Wolverine should have(That there Clint Eastwood type look).

But... apart from that last thing, it looks jolly nice(Although it's hard to tell without the hair and sideburns).

I think it looks great. Add a glint to the eyes, and scootch the ear up a tad. Fabulous!

Basse_Ex,
Yeah, so far it's got more of a Barry Windsor Smith thing going. I was hoping to draw the influence to make Wolvie look hardcore and intense like Miller does, and I also liked the flat nose thing that he and other artists like John Romita Jr. use, so I threw that in there as well. In the end, I don't want it to look like a Miller drawing...just feel like it. Of course that's just the plan...that don't mean I'm gonna achieve that .

I gotta keep on tweakin' the eyes, because I'm also hoping to capture that Eastwood stare (although I couldn't think of the perfect example until you suggested Eastwood, though ). Thanks for your help.

taibug,
LOL, yeah he's really missing that piercing stare...I'll try to get that in there. I see what you mean about the ear, but should I move it up, or just shorten it a tad by moving the bottom up? I don't want his ear too high, but at this angle it's hard for me to judge it.

Again, thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

his ear is a bit oversized and is placed a little bit to low. he doesn't seem to look "rough" enough yet to be wolverine.

Blink. That doesn't look like the Wolverine I ever saw. Maybe, I'm just out of touch.

Frank Miller is hard contrast and shadow, last I looked. Get out your dark pens.

visualsiege,
Yeah that's what I'm figuring. I'm going to move the bottom of the ear up. That way I solve the problem with the ear being too low, and too big . I'm hoping I can get that rough look after tweakin' the eyes.

ixs,
LOL, I know it doesn't look like wolvie yet . I have the hair on a separate layer (including his trademark sideburns), but I was just working on the face, so the hair is more of a mass of random brushstrokes to represent the hair. I was trying to get that semi-realistic look, but I also wanted the attitude and feel of a Frank Miller wolverine. (not his Sin City stuff, I'm talking about more like his old Daredevil and Wolverine stuff). I don't want to ape his style, but I did hope to grab some of that feel. I know it's probably not gonna happen, but that was the thought going into this one. Who knows, maybe I'll end up liking it.

Thanks for your help, guys.
