I started this pic about a month ago but got fed up with it for I couldn't get the likeness right.
Anyhows, I decided to have a play around with it last night and carried on today with some help of some of my mates at the #model_design mIRC channel
I'm wondering what I should do next with this image- I know that the likeness is halfway there but there are things that are stopping it from looking just right. I'm also not sure about whether I should put makeup and hair on him- I have seen that in some photos that MM is bald and has only black makeup round his eyes....
Anyhow's, any tips on how I should progress are welcome- I know that I still need to learn loads but with you guys' help, I should get better

i'm far too sleepy to do a proper repaint so i just did a little one on the eye and the surrounding area. i remember seeing manson wearing light-blue and white contact lenses so i did one
thank you on this thread, reminded me that i want to do a portrait of him too
totally forgot about it
cheers
p.s. you should work some more on the top of his head |

Thanks for the tip Mr T- I had drawn the contact lense in on an earlier version but due to wanting to get the size and shape of the eyes just right on both sides, I copied and pasted the left eye so I lost the contact lense
I see how you've stengthened the lines round the eyes- It's really made a difference- I'll sort these changes out and post a reply either later today or tomorrow
Thanks again Mr T |

how's this looking?
I've changed the eyes to show more emotion and added the contact lense, tidied up the top of the head and finally added some makeup
I thought of adding hair to him but it doesn't look right on him- I know that MM's got a very high hairline which makes things worse lol
I'm not sure whether to work any more on this but I suppose it really depends on the feedback I get from you guys

I got some really bad news.....
My pc was hit with a virus today which wiped my c://WINDOWS dir....
All of the artwork I've done over the last 3 months is gone too- it was in a folder that was on the desktop......
All I got left is the jpegs of the latest version
I don't know whether to carry on or not for I'm feeling really hacked off
Thanks for the advice on the art tho Mr T- I had made major progress literally just before all this happened (I had made the resemblence even closer by moving the cheeks up and narrowing the chin) as well...
[EDIT]This isn't exactly the final version that was done but you could see a bit more of where I was going with this pic[/EDIT]

oh, man, that's really bad news
it doesn't necessarilly has to be a bad event tho- don't know how to explain, but you can make it a turnin' point. like, don't look back and focus on now and future. i really need to brush up my english. |

I've decided to carry on with this pic but I am going to do some major changes to it tho.
The eyes are still too big- gonna get rid of the makeup again too so that I can concetrate on getting the facial features shaped just right
Anyhows, I gotta reinstall photoshop again- toodle pips! |

Dude, why didn't you download a file recovery program? I deleted my UT directory by accident and lots all my custom levels, so I hopped on the net and downloaded a free recovery program and got all my work back.
Anyway, I like the pic so far and I hope you don't lose anymore work. |

Don't be afraid to start all over. Not that it is not good. I have had a few images that I accidently saved flattened when I went and redid it I was impressed with things I solved by just starting over, very educational.
