i've been working on this pic for a while and i'm not really liking it but i would love it if i could get any tips on improving it.

It's a bit difficult to say. The compression has kind of wrecked your picture.

First of all, you need some directional light. Give the cigarette some smoke.

Once you've dropped some light, add big strong shadows.

Erm, that’s the best advice I can give you.

thanks for the advice, i tried to change the lighting around and i added smoke now.

i think it looks a little better now.
