hey all, just finished roughing out this sketch. Normally I would just start going in blocking in my colors and playing with how light is cast and the reflected light until I'm happy with it and then I would pick out areas and tighten up, but I was woundering if there's a better way of painting. I'm just woundering if anyone has a faster or better method that they use for starting their paintings. ![](http://members.rogers.com/n.u.k.e.e/roughsketch01.jpg) |

Dude you have to give it more than just two hours. it is a long weekend people do sleep in. I sometimes have the same thing, just remember that this place is becoming a huge community and alot of people post so sometimes you have to bump your thread or continue working before you get a crit.
I think that the first pict has alot of potential. Things for yourself to do. Choose a light source and direction. Develop more contrast in the image, this happens when there is a darkroom and a strong directional light source are involved. The piler against the wall on the left-back looks as though it is out of perspective.

That picture is sweeeeet! It looks like some guy has just chased someone into that room and stumbled on a major operation. I like the perspective. |

Very Nice!
I really like the sense of scale, maybe it can be pushed a little more by shrinking the main character a bit? Just an opinion.
Also blurring the object in the top left would help.
sorry though no real suggestions on painting. |
