Hello folks.
I don't really make a lot of new threads here but i thought this one could use some outside opinions. This is being done with use of a photograph (my scanner is missing a few drivers so i can't get it online yet).
It's a car parked on the side of a dirt road. I would like to convey the feeling of a hot day.
I made a custom brush to do the grass and played with the settings of some of the calligraphy brushes too. If anyone has any tips on improving my brushwork that'd be nice too.
Overpaintings welcome
[EDIT] "With use of a photograph" means: I'm glancing at it now and then to keep stuff in place [/EDIT]

Mr T. - Still have a long way to go until i get to his level...Thanks, I'll work on it, I must've gotten distracted with the vegetation in mid left.

hey that's pretty shweet
I will be interesting to see how you flesh out the vegitation, I think that would be the most difficult part. I think it might look erm... hotter if you made the sky a more saturated blue? oh, and no clouds
I like the tire marks in the mud, nice touch

Looks damn good. To make it feel hotter, try making the light more blue and overexposing parts of the image. Also have some beautiful shadows that seem inviting. |

Lovely painting, the diversity of brushes are impressive. Couldn't take my eyes away from the grass, tyre tracks, and all those different foilages, nice work.
I think composition-wise, the car and the end of the road is too far to the right. About making it look like a hot day, could use some haze that distorts things far away.
You should post more ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Jesusclone - thanks, I removed the clouds and gave the sky some more saturation.
Anthony - thanks, I used more saturated greens and yellows. See the nice little shade in bottom left?
Louis - thanks
Hunago - I pulled both the car and the road a little towards the center...i'll try to work on making some believable haze too
