ok.. this is my first background pic im posting here.. its for an anime pic i did ealryer i havent airbrushed all the fine details in yet, but im wonering if someone could tell me how to get my blue moutains to move farther back into the distance? or any other personal sugestions on how to excqntuate the roundes of the well with color?

To make the blue mountain move further back. You could make it less saturated, more greyish. Reduce the contrast/shading, make it more like a flat strip of colour. and make it smaller and sit lower in the horizon.

Donno about the roundes of the well. do you mean you want make it more realistic?

yes, how would you aproach the stones if you were going to make them more realistic?

(paint over maybe?)

this is my first paint over

I desaturated the background and added
some interesting peaks to the mountains
which gives the illusion of more depth
compared to the long rolling arcs you had
before. Also I darkend the sky line above
the mountains. I also added some flat
shading to the mountains.

On the well a added weight to the
halftones and shadows making it
rounder, also I added some scribble
texture to the stones alternating between
a really dark grey for little shadow nicks
and a light blue for highlight nicks.

I'm sure you were going to do that anyway
but I hope it helps.

Oh wow.. yeah sizzlin moutain effects... i never thought of bringing em out of the blue (physicly) but thos greys are nice. i guess ill be hittn the desaturator then. thanks again.
