Hey JD Leon, it's good that you're devoting many hours of work into your art, it's the best way to improve
My main suggestion would be that you're relying too much on line. I think you should spend some time trying to see the image as masses of shade and tone. In real life and like in the photo, nothing is made up of linework. The edges of objects you see in real life are highlighted by the backgrounds those objects contrast with.
Try using negative space to bring forth your shapes. For example, in the photo, there are a lot of dark masses surrounding her legs and in the lower left corner. By shading in these dark parts in your drawing, it will effectively make her legs and overall form 'pop' out.
I hope you found this useful, if you already know all this stuff, my bad. Just trying to help ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Hm, the pics won't show. When I try to access them directly on that server where you have them hosted, it gives a "file-not-found" error... = |

I'm liking the work you have done, I think you need to spend some more time on them though. I think you have the potential to be a very great artist. You need to spend more time with the minor details.

i can c em. anyways, i think those look really great. nice job on them. I would suggest to flesh it out a bit, or find some depth and mass to her body. just around the edges and stuff. it will make her look a bit more 3 dimensional. you should also consider practicing contour drawings. i love doing those. |

yeah you should buy the stuff if you like using them.. it's not important if what you make is any good, only if you like doin it...
an damn that is one beautiful girl.. I wish she would devote her life to making mine better, I would spend all day every day with her, I'd take her to school with me an stuff... but I'll tell you about that another time. |

Ok, here we go:
Her head is too small, her and left eyeball is missing. The hair is no excuse, based on where the other eye is, her left eye should be visible EXCEPT for the portion of hair covering the eye.
Whats with the right shoulder? It looks like a mountain is incomprehensibly growing out of her upper body.
The left arm is FAR too long, and theres not even an elbow or joint between upper arm and forearm.
Her butt-to-thighs is really awkward looking, and deformed with strange angularities in random spots. Smooth it out.
Her left leg is thinner than the right one.
Annnd, her ankles appear too thin. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Her mouth is too wide for the face. Her left arm is inhumanly long. Her right shoulder looks as if it is swelling from a bad infection. She's missing an eye.
Overall, you need more detail. There is no shading, and if you do plan to work more on this, fix up the basic outline...it's very off-proportion. |

Don't use medium as an excuse. Anyone talented or even mildly adept in shading can shade with a regular 2b pencil, mechanical or whatever.
I'd only suggest getting an 8b pencil for the darkest areas of a picture, but it's not essential. |

You need to learn your human anatomy, try books by Jack Hamm. ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

I think you have started the right way! Using photos/pictures as a base for drawing is an excellent way to learn anatomy.
But you have to be really honest with yourself and criticize your work harshly.
An excellent way to do that is to mirror your image ( horizontal miror in Photoshop or any picture manipulation tool ) and I bet you'll see some mistake appear.
This technique has worked for me at least ( and I'm still using it because I'm not flawless as an amator artist )
I won't add more critic here as most of the problems I see as already pointed to. |
