Hi!
Im working on a pic that I'm trying to color with the Brush tool in Photoshop. This is the first time I'm trying this on [partly inspired by the art I've seen here] adn I wonder if you could take a look of what I've done so far and give me some comments on the coloring technique.

And also, if you have any good sites with tutorials of this coloring technique, I'd love if you shaerd them...
Thanks in Advance.

Don't know if it'll help to try this, but I've found it very helpful to do the entire illustration monochromatically. For the second layer (Like painting in oils) you can add color. That way you can adjust the saturation levels and values later. Don't think that a lot of people work like this digitally, but from an "old Masters" standpoint, I think that it transfers well.
ALSO – I love the thick painterly look but I always over-blend. I think that technique lends itself to the airbrush and have always had a hard time working with the paintbrush tool.
Looks like your working VERY small as well… hard to detail while working sooooo small. A larger character might be easier to work with.
With all of the light sources coming from the joints it seems like the figure should be amidst a greater glow.
All and all though, it looks like a great start... |

Oki I think I'm more or less done with this now.
I did try to follow up on the CnC i got here and in other forums but I think this picture with its multiple lightsources wasn't that good to try a new techniqe on.
Im pretty happy with her stomach and hands [n guns] but the legs where pretty bad and her face was a disaster so I added some cel-style color dodge/burn filters in an atempt to save it. I just realized that her neck should have a ball as well and some glowing, but I'm pretty fed up with this and gonna leave it as it is.
But even though I'll not alter it, you giving your comment on the final result would please me a lot.
