... I found a different server... Hopefully this will be a successful post this time around... After reviewing most of the work on this site, I question my own forced photo-realism… I tend to spend much more time with small details… Which in light of Greg Manchez being one of my favorite illustrators, seems strange… Thoughts or comments?

Ah, I like it. Really interesting.

I see you're part of the Highly-Rendered scifi art school. The head is really the strongest part of the picture. It's so striking!

My major crit of the piece is the lighting. It seems to be coming from many different directions. I like the very surreal feeling that gives to the "man" and the plain. But on the ships and planets, the confused lighting makes them look very flat.

And I'm no rocket scientist, but could the little moon be that close to the big one without crashing into it?

Anyway, great pic. You're new to the forum, right? Welcome aboard!

It's funny how someone else’s perception can open your mind soooo very quickly... I caught myself laughing at such simple mistakes as soon as they were pointed out

The bust was my focus, the background unnervingly and temporarily "thrown-in"... however the lighting as an afterthought truly looks that way.
It originated from a previous illustration, to which (while a little odd still) I think worked much better. It’s been posted as well…

As for the painfully clich lens flair as “sun”… ewww… I’m gonna have to work on that.

I’ll shoot out an update soon.

Wow, I really like the affect that the blue eye-area has on teh pieces. I love the figures, but as mentioned before, the background just isn't as stunning as the pieces. The only thing I found wierd is that the nose piercing on the girl is on the round part of the nostril and usually its at the top edge of the round part. Am I making sense, well it really doesn't matter, great work.

Worked on lighting and landscape... this is a repost with additional hopes of getting the image to upload on this site.

Can anyone offer suggestions as to where to go from here. Think that the lighting needs work.

Very cool! I love the theme. Are'nt the textures of the skin & rocks too smooth when compared to the details of the eyes & spaceships?
